What do people think of this film and the new Bond, Daniel Craig?
I have to say kudos to Martin Campbell and Daniel Craig. My three favourite Bond films are GoldenEye (also directed by Campbell), Tomorrow Never Dies and now Casino Royale.
News sources say that the next film will continue straight on and will be titled "Risico". I would like to see Martin Campbell direct this one aswell.

I generally liked it. My favourites are still the ones from the sixties, Dr. No especially. This one had a good approach to violence, not overly graphic but still made it's point.
The whole franchise got a bit boring in the past ten years or so - very formulaic but this one has added new life. Daniel Craig is good in the part. He was terrific in Layer Cake.

I went to see this last week, and it totally blew me away. Pun not intended.
My fave Bond flicks up until now were Live and Let Die, and Die Another Day, but this one is right up there with the best of them. Daniel Craig is brilliant. He has a really raw energy as Bond - very gritty and bare-boned. Someone complained to me that this version of Bond is too different to the traditional (read: Sean Connery) movies - he's got none of the suave, or the flair, or the gadgets that were so prominent in previous flicks. But this is Bond at the beginning of his career as a '00', so it makes sense that he wouldn't have completely developed that persona yet.
But basically - Daniel Craig was absolutely fantastic in the role. And Judi Dench was brilliant as well. I intend on going to see this movie again before it leaves the cinemas, and I very rarely do that. It was that good.

Daniel Craig acts the most intense Bond out of the four main Bonds. I saw simmering fury in some scenes which I liked. Sean is still my favourite though - an even mix of toughness, smarts and still kept the pic fun. It is escapist after all.
