If you love the TV series, you'll love the movie without reservations. If you like the TV series, you'll like the movie, but might want to catch it at matinee prices. If you don't know anything about the series, you'll have a good time
It's not as funny or sharp as the funniest or sharpest of the episodes, but it's funny and sharp enough. Homer and Flanders featured a little too much in the story for my tastes, and it seemed a little too overplotted, but it moved at a brisk pace with the jokes coming in fast and furious. The film could've used one of the brilliant musical parodies the show does so well.
I liked it. Not on the level of RATATOUILLE (the best film of the summer), but awfully fun. Be sure to stay through the credits to learn who voices who, enjoy the musical jokes (especially the choral version of "Spiderpig"), and catch a few extra gags.

That's pretty much what I thought about it. I liked but not enough to see it twice and I'm a big fan of the series. (How lucky that my only two favourite shows are in endless syndication so I can catch three-peats at least five times a day. ;D )
It came close to being environmentally preachy but just managed to stay on the right-side of the line for me.
Incidentally, I heard on the local radio this morning that Sam Simon asked to be let go of the show early on in the series (I think second or third season) He didn't want to work that hard and long so he worked out a deal with the other two creators that gives him $10 million per year in royalties. Instead he spends his time in Malibu raising and housing stray dogs.
