Went to the movies with my kids before two of them had to go back to college. Tried to see the new Coehn Brothers film with Tommy Lee Jones, but it was sold out. So we settled for "The Mist." I say "settled" because I never enjoy a Stephen King novel or short story turned into a film. His books are fantastic, but his characters, especially the creatures & monsters, are more of the imagination. When recreated on screen, they seem ridiculous. Andre Braugher (Homocide) had a big role, but exited about halfway thru. Marcia Gay Harden, who played an FBI agent in SVU, was great as a loony bible thumper. And the ending....well....

Thomas Jane!!! I thought the lead looked familiar, couldn't place him. Although I have seen Velocity Of Gary a few times. He did a good job.

Thomas Jane also played in a movie about genetically engineered sharks. The movie was not on my fav list but Thomas Jane sure did look good.

I love stephen king's novels, but Dreamcatcher was a great book, but horrible movie, I will probably just wait for it to come to netflicks. Seems if I didn't read the Book, I like the movie, Children of the Corn was a good short story, but they changed it for the movie, and it was horrible. I think I read the Mist, wasn't it a short story, I don't remember all of it. But I liked Carrie, Christine, but I didn't read those books. so don't know if the books were better.

King collaborated with Straus (sp) some years ago and off the top of my head I can't remember the name of the book but I hated it. I remember the main character was on a train. I never even finished it...
