I enjoyed watching the interaction between Ross, Wheeler, and Logan. The story was stupid, and how was it "RIPPED FROM THE HEADLINES"? I wish they'd stop this practice. It doesn't change whether or not someone watches.
I really liked the actor who played and the character of Goro. I would have found the show much better if they had concentrated on Goro and the Griffin Dunne character.

The "Goro" character was fascinating, and when I saw him, I started to feel that tingle that CI of old used to give me. The actor was mesmerizing, the usual high quality we get with CI guest stars. I was disappointed Goro wasn't used more in the story. I've come to expect that the first suspect is never the perp, so it would have been a surprise to make Goro the murderer of the producer.

Goro was a fascinating character, and well played.
I think this was one of those LOCI episodes that had too much going on.

I thought at first we would get a rap industry related murder, then I thought Gorro was responsible, then his strings were being pulled by someone in a wider nightclub conspiracy with him as the unknowing hitman... any of those could maybe have been adapted into a great episode, but then they went for the silly country plot. And the music video went on way too long at the beginning. It wasn't even any good. You'd think they would have got in enough titillation with the nightclub scenes, but they had to open with some.

This episode would have benefited from focusing more on Goro and the Griffin Dunne character and less on the idiotic country music characters who were a couple of the lamest CI villains I can remember.

More interesting Ross stuff -- the whole rant to Wheeler about there being enough people who want to see him fail might explain why he's wound so tight. effie This Ross rant, confession tidbit to Wheeler explained a lot about him. He obviously thinks there are people who expect him to fail at this job. It would be interesting to know what's behind that statement. His own insecurity? His lack of experience? He's disliked by others and knows it? Whatever the reason, he's so concerned about failing that he's micromanaging everything.

TECHGUY "What I don't get is this part: Captain Ross (Eric Bogosian) steps into a different role to catch the true killer. What was that supposed to mean??? Did all the election result captions block out something I should have seen?" That was my question too.

As much as I did not care for this episode, I did like seeing more of how Ross "ticks", definitely supports my he has to be in the loop theory. And the "people are waiting for me to fail" comment? I got it.... he's a paranoid schizophrenic too! Goren's picking up on it. Just kidding! sorta Being the new boss can make you nervous. But the "micomanaging" as someone else pointed out, I don't know. Maybe he'll relax and realize his detectives actually do have brains and managed to solve cases before he got there. And he doesn't just pick on Goren, he seems to be keeping an eagle eye on Logan too. (course getting into a brawl with the NYFD didn't help Logan any). I think Ross helps link the series week to week since the two teams are so different more than last season. I am enjoying the season and look forward to seeing mom and "The Nanny" next week.

I'm getting this feeling from many posts here and in other episode threads that there is a growing interest in Ross, past the first flicker of curiosity/animosity. Sounds like the character was one of the few redeemimg features in this ep, too. Would anyone like to see that role expanded, or is Ross at the right ;evel of exposure now? ? Or am I misreading what's been said? (LOL to SG95 for nominating Ross as the newest schizoid specimen in Goren's life)

I feel that Ross is at the right level of exposure right now. I really enjoy the character - BUT - I'm primarily interested in the story focusing on the Detective teams. AND on a whole other matter - BeachBoy - you might be able to find some Noth screencaps at - community.livejournal.com/teh_logan_barek/If they don't have them the mods. should be able to direct you to a place where you can find them

I agree. I wouldn't want more Ross, but I wouldn't want less. I don't like him, but I do enjoy his presence and role, and he is creating a greater sense of unity across the two teams' episodes, as someone pointed out.

Yeah!!, Goro was very interesting. but you know what, Griffin Dunne's character reminded me a bit of Carla's hubby Nick (Dan Hedaya) and Zac reminded me of Woody (Woody Harrleson) both from the show "Cheers"
