Ah, well maybe that explains it! Maybe Mr. Kipp wrote this one back in the '90s too. It would also explain his take on Logan, willing to shove first and ask questions later.

I never realized how much music law and order ci has had lately... perhaps they should come up with a sing a long tape? Whats really annoying is that I keep begging my Grammy to start watching it. She hates gore and anything that could maybe be considered scary cause she lives alone in the woods. So I got her to watch an new episode and when she finally gives it a chance she catches the episode where they cut someones ear off (cant think of this ones name) I get her to give it another chance and she watches last nights episode! Now she really doesn't like it and thinks all they show is gore!

God, I hate to be a pessimist because it's just not in my nature, but last night was by far the worst episode of this show that I have ever seen. From the writing, to the acting, to the music, to the filming, to the special effects.... it was all off... tacky, cheap, and fake. Right now, I am disgusted beyond words. The reason that this response is so short is because I'm speechless... and that's rarely happened before. Viewer displeasure is becoming blatantly apparent in the ratings, so I know that I'm not the only one... I mean this season started out at about 11 million viewers, winning it's time slot, now we're tying for 3rd with around 6 million viewers. You guys... what has happened to our show. This is a tragedy! & The saddest part is... despite my deep love for KE and VDO, next weeks preview really is not giving me any hope. NBC is literally killing our show, strangling it slowly and painfully.

I think some of the reason for the declining viewers is they got impatient because of the lack of new episodes. Not much quantity or quality.
But he is the new writer and that is hard so I'm trying to lay off.

Now, see, I thought spray-paint-kid was a plant. That's the only way Carmen's outburst makes any sense. Hmmm....

Im having trouble with the writing in Albatross and now another new writer? Who directed? Did they not get a psychology reading list then?! The director's name is Jim McKay. Mean anything? Is he new also?

You guys... what has happened to our show. This is a tragedy! The short answer is NUTS discarded Balcer and replaced him with Leight. I agree with you that this season is going from bad to worse, and doesn't look like there's an upswing in sight. Crim Intent is no longer appointment viewing for me. And pretty soon it won't even be what-the-hell-it-can't-be-worse-than-last-week viewing either. My roommate got me to watch a couple episodes of House, and even though I hate to admit it, I find myself looking forward to it on Tuesday nights instead of Crim Intent. House isn't as good as Crim Intent was in its prime, but it's head and shoulders above most other shows out there, and even above current CI.

Now, see, I thought spray-paint-kid was a plant. That's the only way Carmen's outburst makes any sense. Hmmm.... Interesting, outerbankschick. Either way, it's sloppy execution. If spray boy was a plant, then we should've had some indication that either Logan or Wheeler had enough insight into what made Carmen tick that they knew she'd break after seeing that. We got bupkus. In fact, everything we knew about Carmen was that she'd never talk to the cops. Grandma even said all the tears had been cried out of her. The cops never had the upper hand with her. Carmen didn't share anything with either of them that would indicate a little black paint would do the trick. And, of course, if he wasn't a plant, it's just sloppy all around. I think some of the reason for the declining viewers is they got impatient because of the lack of new episodes. Not much quantity or quality. We're getting the same number of new epis this season as in recent seasons. So the quantity part is covered. But maybe they're spaced out differently this year? Anybody know?

Oh, no sorry for the confusion! I meant, that its all randomly spaced out like sometimes only 2 episodes a month.

Please take the off topic discussion on the foibles of the current season to the general discussion area.

I too thought this ep was a little choppy. I had to watch it a couple of times to pull it all together. But I didn't think it was quite the bomb as some seem to think. I think the one thing that they could have clarified a little better was Ross' behavior. Even watching it twice, his reactions didn't make sense to me.

The part that really killed me was when Logan threw the guy up against the glass. It seemed as if it was in slow motion. It looked so unrealistic, staged.

H-m-m. I just don't understand the violent reactions to this episode. Heavens, it had a beginning, a middle and an end, which is far more than can be said about TRU LOVE. It wasn't a great episode. by any means, but it was solid. Even the rap music worked for me--if you listened to the lyrics, there were all about the dangers of violence and the need to work for the better of the community. The whole script should have gone through at least one more rewrite, and the editing seemed to leave bits out. But it wasn't a horrible episode.
But I don't think I can complain too much about violent reactions. I'm so angry at the HOUSE writers that I may never watch the show again, so I can at least relate to some people's disappointments.

I'm kind of in your camp Patcat - I enjoyed the epie enough - Some parts even really worked for me.
So a decent and entertaining episode. Not great but not the worst CI that I have seen either.
