Hey, if I had a cool NYC apartment in this building, I'd give this chic a buzz. It says: January 8, 2004 Dear Resident: Universal Network Television is producing its fourteenth season of the NBC Emmy Award winning television show Law & Order. The program airs on Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. and stars Sam Waterston, Jerry Orbach, Jesse L. Martin, S. Epatha Merkerson, Fred Thompson and Elisabeth Rohm. • We are currently looking for an apartment to film a scene for an upcoming episode. • Filming will take place on one weekday only. One additional day of prep and/or wrap may be necessary depending on the scene. • Of course, we offer a location fee and issue a certificate of insurance along with a location agreement. If you are interested, please call me directly at XXX-XXX-XXXX as I am available to answer any questions you may have. You can also reach me through the Locations Department at (212) XXX-XXXX, Ext X. Since we are on a very thight schedule, I would appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible. Sincerely, Location Scout PS I have a url for a scanned picture of the actual letter but I can't get it to post. Just to clarify, the Location Scout choose the building and THEN posted the letter in the lobby asking if any tenants inside were interested.

They don't let you stick around for the filming, though. Couch Baron (mod on TWoP) wrote about CI filming in his building, and it seems that they were pretty controlling about who was allowed where. They couldn't keep the rest of the tenants out of the building though, so he got to watch from afar, but didn't get to meet any of the actors. I think the episode was Cherry Red because it was during the second season shoot and he said that Vincent and Erbe were looking over a woman's body at the bottom of a set of stairs. The post is pretty old, and not on the CI thread, or I would dig it up for you.

Yes, I can believe they would be pretty selective about who was around. It may be a fun show for us but it's a business for them and a lucrative one at that. I heard they are in and out in less than an afternoon with everything in its original place so you wouldn't even know they were there.

Trisha - can you dig it up for me at TWOP? I'm pathetic.
I'd be interested in renting out the apartment too, except that I'm on the Left Coast. Alas.

I don't remember where and when it was posted! It was over a year ago. Here's the gist:
Someone mentioned Vincent D'Onofrio being at a TWoP TAR-con (The Amazing Race- convention) There were some photos of him with a few of mods and posters, too. I believe that was when someone mentioned Couch Barons story, and linked to it. I think he wrote about it on one of the show boards that he recaps (recapped?) for, but I don't really remember.
Now you're gonna want to see those photos, right? Check out the TAR-con threads (I don't know which one, sorry), but don't be surprised if you find that the links to the pics are dead. It was a long time ago, and they weren't that great anyway. I recall him looking drunk, overweight, and a little sunburned.
