That's puzzling, because TV Tome lists the episode title as "The Posthumous Collection".

This was part of a heads-up to posters on another board. Copying the post in its entirety required me to become a member of a truly awful magazine, Entertainment Weekly.
"In ''CI'''s fourth season, Vincent D'Onofrio's freaky Detective Goren is getting toned down. ''The female audience is gonna discover a sexier, more engaged side of him,'' says exec producer René Balcer. ''And the male audience is gonna see the stakes are going to be higher for him.'' So he's hot and engaged and less, uh, odd? ''I don't think you're gonna find him off-putting in the first episode at all.'' Now there's an endorsement.
The premiere revolves around a nasty shock jock (Fisher Stevens) and his wife (Tatum O'Neal). Also up: Goren's nemesis, Nicole Wallace, the Australian serial killer, returns. Says Balcer: ''Those who are looking for fireworks are certainly gonna find it in this episode.''[/b]

Oh lord, if they thought they had to sex up D'Onofrio obviously they haven't been reading his fan posts. I'm not even a huge fan and I don't think he needs much fixin'. Observer and I had a chat about whether my "subtle" was her "toned down", and I will be glad that Goren isn't so histrionic. We know the character, you don't have to flash it every episode that he has issues. (I like the--for lack of a better term--more mellow approach as not only personal preference, but also it means when his buttons DO get pushed we can fully appreciate it.)
And will this be Nicole's final shot? Do it classy, do it well, but get it done. How's that for wishy-washy, huh?

less fruit-cakier is fine with me ..... I like my hero striding through his life.
Nicole is trash, overdone, not worthy & I hope it selfdistructs soon. (D'Abo, however, I like what she does with the character - just the character is .... bluck)

I don't want soap, but I do like getting inside Goren's head. It's an interesting place, and it's fun watching Mr. D'Onofrio take us there.
I think I've posted before that Nicole/Elizabeth/Evil One is an interesting idea that has problems in its execution. Ms. D'Abo is not part of that problem for me. I suspect we'll see here in November or March for the rating sweeps time.

See now I'm someone who really likes the Goren/Nicole Pairing. I think it adds depth to continuing themes and issues such as inherent good vs inherent evil and the choices people make. I don't think it's become soapy yet because she's only been in two episodes, although admittedly that's one more episode than any other supporting actor from any of the L&O's. It's been very debatable on the boards whether there was an attraction there or not. The sexier Goren thing that's rumoured to distinguish season four has me worried though. That definately sounds soapy and what's this about him recently getting a cat in Cherry Red..? Goren the domesticated? I hope not.

...and they're juicy! I can't hotlink or I would but they're floating around some of the message boards we all populate anyway. If you have trouble finding it, PM me.

About the new and improved and sexier Goren for Season 4--I'll just leave it to the female members to comment on this. As a male, I am indeed interested in the "higher stakes" aspect of where CI might be headed.
However, I have mixed feelings about when and how and even IF the Nicole character should come back. The first time I saw her, in "Anti-Thesis," I was stunned at her audacity and ability to escape Goren and justice at the end. But her appearance in "A Person of Interest" was more unsettling than enlightening for me. I don't know if it's a guy thing or not, but I was most definitely uneasy with the Nicole-Goren exchanges. I was mostly uncomfortable with how she got under Goren's skin in the restaurant scene. And the interrogation scene when certain revelations were made came across as a little forced, as though the writers had to say something about the past to explain what was going on in the present.
So while I'd like to see Nicole maybe once more to bring the story between her and Goren to some sort of closure, I also wonder if she is going to hang around, either in person or lurk somewhere "out there" if she gets away again, to stick in Goren's craw until CI comes to a conclusion.
As I said, mixed feelings. I should know better how I want the Nicole saga to go after her appearance sometime in Season 4.

Here here on the soap. I'm okay with losing the fruit cake, too, but not if it means the writers are just going to explore his psyche through his personal life. I'll have to break up with this show if that happens.
Techguy, I don't really trust tv-now, I just thought it was intresting that they had an episode listed for the premier date. It's possible that Semi-Detached isn't even a CI episode since they frequently mix up original flavor and CI eps. They even have Fred Thompson listed as costarring in it. They also have him listed as costarring in Stray and a few other eps.

Also - remember we were told about professional sparks flying between Bishop and Goren .....
I didn't see but a small glimer of an ember in one show & poof - it was gone (the you wanna scroll .... scroll line)
so I'll just set my brain when I see the shows.

Can anyone else take a look and report back? Nothing to get too excited about. It's just the ONE TWO Criminal Intent/Crossing Jordan Sunday night punch...featuring brief scenes from previous seasons of both series. ETA: I guess there's no episodes on NBC until the Season Premiere. Episodes on CTV: Friday, September 10 at Midnight Bright Boy....................... Sunday, September 12 at 9:00PM Undaunted Mettle

Yes, it is the standard ad--nothing new or remarkable, although it does have D'Onofrio brooding as he walks toward the camera. And he broods very well
