Courtney B. Vance, Ruben Studdard, Ed Pinckney, Joe Morgan and Arthur Myers to be Honored
SAN DIEGO, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) today announced the 2005 inductees into its prestigious Alumni Hall of Fame, which recognizes former Club members who have gone on to make major contributions to their respective fields, from sports and entertainment to business and medicine. All five outstanding individuals will be honored at a special ceremony being held during BGCA's 99th annual national conference. Gap Inc. sponsors this year's Alumni Hall of Fame ceremony.
The 2005 inductees are Law & Order: Criminal Intent star Courtney B. Vance[/b], American Idol Ruben Studdard, former NBA standout and current Villanova assistant basketball coach Ed Pinckney, Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Joe Morgan, and Arthur Myers, the highest-ranking civilian officer in the United States Air Force. M*A*S*H star and 2004 inductee Jamie Farr will host this year's event.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan
At his local Boys & Girls Club, Vance focused on the Little League football, swimming and crafts programs. He also regularly attended the Club's summer camp, where he met counselor and mentor George Brown.
With Brown's encouragement and help, Vance became a scholarship student at a top high school in the Detroit area. His stellar academic and athletic performance in high school helped earn him a spot at Harvard and later at the prestigious Yale Drama School. Vance has received Tony Award nominations for his work in August Wilson's Fences and John Gaure's Six Degrees of Separation.
His film credits include The Hunt for Red October, Hamburger Hill and The Preacher's Wife, playing opposite BGCA national spokesperson Denzel Washington. Vance currently stars as District Attorney Ron Carver on Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
