Some of you may have noticed that Channel 10 has once again pre-empted LOCI reruns from the much-publicised Thursday 8:30pm slot. This time the network has dumped the Jan 25th program to air a one-hour 'Australia Day Live' special. I find this interesting, because Australia Day is actually Jan. 26th, as we know, and so Channel One-Plus-Nothing cannot possibly be doing a 'live' telecast or even a recap of Australia Day. It's just filler bilgewater. If you are inclined to voice complaints to the Network, by phone, by email, by snailmail, now would be a good time to do so. Edit: Phone complaints are recorded and weighted as approximately 1 call = 100 irate people. We all know the demographic drill, too: Try to pass yourself off as male 18-49. If you cannot, get a male to phone. If no males available, just be as corporate as you can. No droolfan stuff . Does it work? A group of 40 disaffected Aussies and their willing friends did manage to change Channel Nine's mind re televising the US gridiron Superbowl one year: we blitzed the Nine switchboard for an hour and a half- nothing unpleasant, just sheer numbers. The Superbowl was reinstated. It's unlikely that 10 will change their programming, but the network obviously perceives LOCI as a soft spot that need not be treated with respect (or caution). Would be nice to convince them otherwise before Season 6 starts and goes down the same dismal programming slice-'n-dice that Season 5 did.
