Annabella Sciorra: True Love

Since noone else started a thread for La Bella Sciorra, I guess I will, since I'm a "paisana" also...

If you would like to see an impossibly young Ms. Sciorra in her feature film debut, check out TRUE LOVE (1989). Annabella plays Donna, a young Italian-American girl from the Bronx who is about to get married, but finds out that "true love" is more than it is cracked up to be. Her boyfriend is played by Ron Eldard, who recently starred in the cancelled show "Blind Justice". The director is none other than Nancy Savoca, who also directed Vincent D'Onofrio in HOUSEHOLD SAINTS (1993). Both are must-sees if you are interested in NY Italian-American culture, since they are excellent period pieces.

She later went on to work with D'Onofrio again in MR. WONDERFUL (1993).

Interesting, the way everything seems to be connected. I hadn't realised Annabella Sciorra was the same girl that gave up Vincent D'Onofrio for Matt Dillon (silly, silly girl) in Mr Wonderful. And after he sang to her, and everything!
People used to play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, after the movie Six Degrees of Separation came out, but I'm starting to wonder whether we couldn't just as easily play Six Degrees of Vincent D'Onofrio.
Anyway, I digress. This is a thread for Ms Sciorra, after all.
I do wonder, though, whether Vincent actually had any input into the selection of Ms Sciorra for the role of Barek.

Didnt she play on the Soprano's as well (forgive me, i dont get HBO with this particular package of sadilite TV i had to trade in my premium package in order to afford the internet)? I like her on LOCI, i think she's the perfect partner for Logan i think cant wait to see her character round out more as the show progresses. i also think that she & Logan are perfect partners.

I adore Annabella! I'm happy to see her join the cast of CI. I think they are trying to make her the "Goren" of this team because her character speaks several languages and is pretty preceptive of people around her.
I like her character a lot.

I think she is a snoozefest on this show, but a normally good actress. Thanks for reminding me about the movie, I'm going to rent it this month. It seems kinda lightweight but I love Italian-American things and Nancy Savoca, so who knows....
