Saw this latest adaptation of one of C.S. Lewis' CHRONICLES OF NARNIA books this past weekend. If you enjoyed THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, I think you'll like this film. It doesn't have the delightful surprise of that film, and the filmmakers appear to owe a lot to THE LORD OF THE RINGS films. It's not the fine young actor William Moseley's fault that his character of Peter Pensvie is a bit of a drip. Ben Barnes, the young British actor who plays the title character, has a rather suspect mid-Mediterrean accent, but has the dashing romantic looks to carry off the part, and I got the sense he could do a lot more if asked. The great actor Peter Dinklage, although having to wrestle with a lot of makeup, is wonderful, and Georgie Hensley is the best child actor I've seen in a long time as Lucy. This little girl makes you believe in Narnia and Aslan. I wanted more of both the character of Edmund and the actor who plays him, Skander Keynes. Not much to do in this story, but well done at every point.
I liked it. Didn't love it, glad I didn't pay full price for it, but I liked it. Lots of battle scenes, but not much blood.

I read the books years ago and remembered this book as a war. It is mostly one long battle, reminds me of Lord of the Rings. It is more the battle also of two young men. That is sorta the secondary story.
I liked the young man who played Prince Caspian. He was not what I had imagined but within a few minutes I believed him. I thought he brought him to life.
Lucy was my favorite in the books and she was the star of the movie. I have to admit this movie made me cry. It is a story that speaks to my heart and the pain of war made it difficult to watch.
