In a brief note from that distinguished icon of upright British journalism -- OK! Magazine -- Jeff Goldblum mentions that today --Monday, July 21 -- he'll be on the CI set in his new part.
You'll have to wade through the reporter's name-drops of A-listers attending an eco-fundraiser in Laguna Beach; Goldblum's bouquets for London and the Old Vic; and his plug of a forthcoming film before you get to any mention of CI.
As far as I know, this is the first time Goldblum has spoken publicly (however succinctly) about his new job. Will we learn his character's name soon?

EDIT: I see now that DNA has posted the full article in another thread in this sub-board. So I've removed my link. You can read it there.

As far as I know, this is the first time Goldblum has spoken publicly (however succinctly) about his new job. Will we learn his character's name soon? AL I posted a small TV Guide article that has Jeff talking about LOCI in the Articles section, but it pretty much got lost, so I'm repeating it here: TVGuide (July21-Aug3)
Top Ten Breaking News Number 5 - Goldblum Is Ready To Go CriminalJeff Goldblum says he wasn't looking to join another TV show when he was offered the chance to fill the void left by the departing Chris Noth on USA Network's Law & Order:Criminal Intent. "I've been really busy since (the short-lived cop show) Raines. But I'm a fan of Criminal Intent and it all came about very quickly." Goldblum says he's only had a preliminary conversation with L&O creator Dick Wolf about his still-unnamed character. But he does know that he's a Detective "who may have insights into the psychology of the individual. Dick's very smart. I love the show and I trust him." Goldblum says he expects to to appear in about eight episodes next season. Filming starts at the end of the summer for a fall start.************************************************* July 21st is hardly the end of the summer. And it's too early to tape for Fall. Does this mean that he is taping for this season? That his character will be in the last Logan episode?

Thank you for the re-post my good friend. I did miss it the first time around.
My thoughts are the same. Goldblum is on the CI set today to do a transitional scene in "Last Rites." The episode doesn't go into post-production until next week.
Why else wing in from breezy Laguna Beach?

I'll stick it in here, no use taking up 2 threads The Press AssociationWest End star Jeff falls for LondonJeff Goldblum has admitted he's the English capital's No 1 fan after treading the boards in the West End earlier this year. Speaking at an environmental fundraiser in Laguna Beach, California, the quirky actor - who's starred in movie blockbusters like The Fly, Jurassic Park and Independence Day - confessed: "I loved London to pieces." "I was on stage at the Old Vic with Kevin Spacey, we did Speed-the-Plow and I ate up every moment of it. It was the best time I ever had and being on stage in that play was just delicious." But for now it's back to the big screen again for the actor: "I've been working like crazy, I did this movie that you might look out for called Adam Resurrected, very serious movie that Paul Schrader directed." In the film Jeff plays an ex-circus performer who, after the Second World War, becomes the ringleader at an asylum for Holocaust survivors. Jeff said the casting alone makes it a film to watch out for: "Willem Defoe is in it and also Sir Derek Jacobi, he's spectacular in it." In between stage and screen, Jeff is even managing to squeeze in some TV work: "On Monday [I'm going] to do a part on Law & Order Criminal Intent." Grinning proudly, he added: "I'm gonna solve crimes."

So it's likely that we'll get a little taste test of the new character before the next season. I'm more than a smidge curious about the new character's name. An d ethnic background.
