Thanks for posting this, DonnaJo. I've never read or seen an interview with Mr. Bogosian where he's been anything short of terrific. Captain Ross drives me crazy sometimes, but I suppose that's a testament to Mr. Bogosian's talent as an actor.
By the way, I thought the two interviewers were very good. They (or their researchers) actually seemed to know who Mr. Bogosian was and asked good questions. And the interview went on for several minutes. A refreshing change from US morning television where the interview lasts about five minutes and with Mr. D'Onofrio appears to consist of "So, your character's crazy, right?"
Patcat (who's a bit cranky today, either the result of the Republican convention or her birthday)
I really, really enjoyed this! Thank you DonnaJo. Its so refreshing to hear an interview where the interviewers/hosts are knowledgable or seem like it at least. I just had this feeling that, were he interviewed on some shows here in the U.S., the hosts would have inevitably resorted to asking what it was like to work with Vincent. Vincent is one of the actors on the show. He created the role of Goren. But I think that some interviewers tend to focus on him alone. Like the interview on the Today show last year, when VDO and Katie were trying to promote Amends. I remember, I think it was Meredith Viera, who wanted to talk to Vincent about what his character was going through and Vincent said something like, "actually the first episode centers on Eames". Like hello, there are other characters in this show.
I really like the interviews that I see from Australia. The Rove Live interview was a special treat too. I think there's sometimes a greater appreciation for LOCI in other countries, than in the U.S. I know we appreciate it here, but its nice to see all the attention that the show gets over in Australia, in particular. Like the Ten Button ads from last year.
"Wouldn't I need some terrible trauma?" - Eames
"Well you've had those, haven't you? In spades. PTSD, pent up anger. It's all there." - Gage
"Oh it's there alright. But not towards my partner." - Eames
The hosts "David & Kym.' do their own research on their "guests" that they interview. Both David & Kym are intelligent, knowledgeable people, and have media back ground, as well as do other shows. Im sure it was refreshing for Eric Bogosian to be interviewed about his work, on all levels, rather than being asked the same questions.
There is no Ten Button for season 7 ad`s this year on Ten Network, nor any new ads for LOCI. Maybe season 8 will have something new, like our own shows that have been promoted this year.
Dec/Jan 2006/7 was when a crew went over to America to do the Ten Button ad`s with all the US shows that are shown on Ten network here, including LOCI.
David & Kym will be pleased on the feedback from o/seas fan`s im sure.
It was good of you to put Shelby`s interview link here for everybody to share DJ, thank you.
caitlen, thank you for the inside info. Especially about how the Ten network button ads were developed. I remember us discussing at the time whether or not the cast hopped over to OZ to film those? Also, how clever & unique those ads were.
Does the site where the Bogosian video plays have a place for comments? If so, I'll add my positive ones there for the show exec's to read.
I'm glad to hear shelby was OK with my posting her info. I couldn't resist sharing it!
