I usually pass over posting items like this because our prolific and peripatetic interpretor of Captain Ross is always somewhere, doing something. If it's not writing a new play then it's answering questions about it from the audience at a local premiere. A driven social activist/artist, Bogosian also tends to do many fundraising events. This one, though, is in the near future and might be well worth coming into NYC on October 7, 2008 -- especially if you live in the surrounding northeast U.S. Called "Revenge of the Bookeaters" the event will be hosted by "The Daily Show's" John Oliver. This annual benefit to support NYC schools' writing programs will also feature a performance from Paul Simon; a short story reading by "This American Life's" Ira Glass;" and Bogosian and friends reading a new play by controversial novelist Jonathan Franzen ("The Corrections"). Plus, as they say, more. Find more information here: www.nme.com/news/paul-simon/39892For tickets ($45 to $100, partially tax-deductible). Great seats still available at. www.ticketmaster.com/event/0300412DAC1449D2?artistid=1258776&majorcatid=10005&minorcatid=0AL P.S. If you want to make weekend out of it, Lewis Black is performing at Town Hall on Friday and Saturday that same week. And, for free, you are likely to find at least one of the L&O shows shooting in the street on October 7th because it's a Tuesday.
