Mental confusion: 'The Mentalist' trumps 'Fringe' in the ratings Posted by Mekeisha Madden Toby (The Detroit News) Mon, Dec 22, 2008 Simon Baker is hot. I get it. But how in the world is his by-the-numbers procedural "The Mentalist" scoring higher ratings than "Fringe"? Seriously. No offense to Baker, 39, but the CBS series is "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" meets "Psych" with a hotter lead actor. If I were Vincent D'Onofrio, I would be pretty angry right now. That pretty boy on CBS is stealing his act. As for "Fringe," it's only one of the best TV shows around right now. I can't wait for the new episodes to begin. There are so many fantastic questions to be answered. For one, where the heck are those bad guys taking Agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv)? Speaking of Torv, like Baker, she's an Aussie. What's up with that? Is America really picking one Aussie over another? The nerve. In case you're wondering, "The Mentalist" will be back with new installments Tuesday, Jan. 13. info.detnews.com/redesign/blogs/tvblog/index.cfm?blogid=945

Two Tivos To Paradise 01.16.09
*The Mentalist will get a bigger-than-usual spotlight this Sunday when CBS airs a new episode following the AFC Championship Game. It's estimated the lead-in audience will be upwards of 35 million. The network also ordered one more episode of the season's biggest new drama series to balance out their regular schedule.

One can only hope that this really, really terrible show (that we love to watch if only to find out what amazing act of legerdemain snatched Bruno Heller's mind and to see the very beautiful Simon Baker) actually has ONE good episode in its bag of tricks.

I like THE MENTALIST, enough that I'm actually checking to see when it's on, but I have to admit that I fine the least of LOCI far more fascinating than the best of THE MENTALIST.

If we all liked the same, what in the hell would we get to jibe about ;D I like it because its a little refreshing from the normal cop drama`s, its lighthearted, and the scenery is not too shabby maybe Patrick and Bobby could do a cross over
