OBC, you always crack me up! I don't watch the other two Law and Orders, but I am curious if the infamous Chief of D's appears occasionally in them and if he is as much a DB as he is in Criminal Intent? Anyone?

From what I gather, each branch of the PD has a different Chief. If I am not mistaken, they've shown the Chief of D's on SVU and it's a completely different guy than the one on CI, and not all the surprisingly, he is a dill weed.

Maybe thats part of the job application? Must be able to be a total dill weed and/or douche bag and make your best detectives' lives miserable. Check yes or no. Fringe benefits include being accompanied by hangers on and yes men at all times including during bathroom breaks in which case they will hand you over paper towels and tell you how wonderful you are. Also will be able to play poker with your underlings and be able to tease and taunt them and expect to win as they tell you "your the man".

I recall that the Chief of Detectives in one Wheeler/Logan episode was played by a different actor from the one who plays the Goren hater. I suspect in reality there's one Chief of Detectives in the NYPD, but he changes with the availability of a particular actor in the L&O world (g)
