Again, the ASP bat remains at the ready. It's made of wood, by the way. No metal bats for me. I'm a traditionalist in some things.

Louisville Slugger? I have a miniature one from the museum we could use.

I have one of those miniature bats from the museum too. It has my name burned on it and is far too valued a possession for me to use as the ASP bat.

Something tells me Patcat's ASP bat is going to get a lot of work for the next few weeks. Rather than wait in line to borrow it, I'll use my trusty Easton hockey stick to get the same results.

From TV Guide: Any scoop on Goren and Eames' last episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent? — Joanna MICKEY: Yep, I've seen it! Believe it or not, the two-part sendoff is about arms dealers and Somalian pirates. I can confirm that by the end, three cast members — Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe and Eric Bogosian — take their final bow. But not before there is one death, one firing and one promotion. Beware: It may not be a happy ending for anyone. A promotion? I wasn't expecting that. Could Goren, after all of these years of being the Chief Of Detectives scapegoat, actually be promoted? Wouldn't that be wonderful!

Does this mean it's Eames who gets FIRED?

Techguy--That wouldn't be Sydney Crosby's stick, would it? And are hockey players superstitious about their sticks the way baseball players are about their bats?

Just cos there is one promotion, one firing and one death doesn't mean that multiple things couldn't happen to the one character, right? The most likely scenario is Ross is killed, Eames promoted and Goren fired, but that is too easy, so let the speculation run wild!

"It may not be a happy ending for anyone." Yeah, especially for USA when the ratings tank.

Hockey players are among the most, if not the most, superstitious athletes. They employ elaborate game day rituals, from the types of food they eat, the route they take to the arena, even down to how they lace their skates, tape their sticks, and dress for games.

Ausiello has some different new re the ending --
Question: Any tidbits about the season opener of Law & Order: Criminal Intent? The 30-second spots now showing on USA tell us nothing! —Maureen Ausiello: As previously reported, the two-part premiere — airing March 30 and April 6 — bids adieu to Vincent D’Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, and Eric Bogosian. How do they depart? All I’ll say is the second episode features a funeral, a firing, and a resignation. Suck it, 30-second spots
Instead of a promotion, he has a resignation.
These TV reporters can't even get their facts to match up! 3 more weeks...

Well, this is Ausiello...I've written before, if the man told me it was sunny outside and I could see the sun, I wouldn't believe him.

I think I can guess who is going to get fired and who will be promoted but I'm done guessing as it drives me nuts and I will likely get it wrong. Thanks for posting the link - as if I wasn't obsessing enough.

I think in this case Ausiello might be right. I don't see anything positive (like a promotion) happening. I guess I'm being pessimistic. I get the feeling that Goren resigns. He isn't killed (that we know) and if he's fired, that would be just so predictable based on the COD's hated of him. Would they be that obvious with his fate? Resignation would also allow the Goren character to return for a guest spot?
