The thing about this latest promo is when the Voice-Over announed that there would be a moment that would have everyone talking. I want to laugh, because around here every moment has us talking. He could give her a certain look, and we'd all be talking about it. I want to say to the people who thought of that promo, "Have you MET us?"

Yes, heavens, we all go beserk when Mr. D'Onofrio sneezes and Ms. Erbe lifts an eyebrow. (g)

Al--You're back!
I like these photos, especially the second one. And the suit and the binder are back!

Mrs. T and I have returned from Ovieland with lots of hockey memories, photos and autographs included. We needed this break for lots of reasons, not the least being getting away from all the speculation about what this upcoming Season 9 premiere has in store for us. My wife and I are both approaching this event with a combination of anticipation and dread. Whatever is going down, we'll find out very soon. As the Bette Davis character says in All About Eve, "Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be b bumpy night!"

Hadn't seen that first one yet...saw the other two elsewhere. Google Alerts is a great thing. And the moment to have everyone talking - how about "the hug"!

Personally, I find nothing wrong with some good, healthy speculation. I mean, what else is there to do until March 30th? Techguy, I also thought Nichol's snark was stragetically placed in the promo to be funny. I bet you he makes that comment either in another episode or at a more appropriate place in this episode. No way would he make light of another's death or resignation. And I found myself wondering why the need to be funny at all. One thing this ep is not going to be is funny.

I think in this case Ausiello might be right. I don't see anything positive (like a promotion) happening. I guess I'm being pessimistic. I get the feeling that Goren resigns. He isn't killed (that we know) and if he's fired, that would be just so predictable based on the COD's hated of him. Would they be that obvious with his fate? Resignation would also allow the Goren character to return for a guest spot? To put things in perspective - like it matters now. The premier is tomorrow! But still... The promotion and the resignation could be the same person. Or the death and the promotion. As in, this deal Ross makes that prompts that "sold my soul" comment comes with a promotion...and then he's killed. I have speculated that Bobby is the one fired and Alex resigns out of "Loyalty" - but I wouldn't put it past the L&O writers to give us a real twist and have Bobby resign after Alex is fired. Though I still think it is more plausible that it goes the other way... And FWIW, I don't believe we'll ever see Goren again. I ain't holdin' my breath folks - unless the network is desperate in S10. Most of the S9 eps are in the can and there is no mention of a guest spot for VDO. Which is no surprise to me.

The hug happens in the promo that centers on Goren. Right after the voice-over announces that after years of asking Detective Goren to solve the toughest cases (paraphrasing here) they'll ask him to do it one more time. Bobby puts his arm around Alex and pulls her against his side as she leans into him with her face clearly looking as though she is about to cry - or she already is crying. Just as the scene begins to fade to the next clip, she is turning slightly to press her head against the side of his chest. And yes folks, I am obsessed. I have this promo saved on my Tivo and I've watched it about two dozen times already.

Sorry all that I've been considerably distant over the past several months: I decided to refrain from getting involved in the debate over the departure of Vincent, Katie, and Eric. Regardless, I've returned and despite my trepidation about the upcoming season, I will watch. It's off-topic, but I'm still an avid viewer of The Office, although I feel as though that show jumped the proverbial "shark" several years ago. I don't know if these have been posted, but the blog "All Things Law & Order" has two exclusive clips of tomorrow night's episode. WARNING, they seem very spoiler filled. I appreciate the posting of these, but I would like everyone to remember to announce SPOILERS in their posts for those of us who want to approach the premiere untainted. I'm not one of those, by the way, in spite of the ASP bat.
These two scenes seem classic LOCI to me. Goren and Eames jamming at the crime scenes; Goren dressed neatly and professionally in his suit; even Goren's embarrassment at pointing out the breast implants.

Patcat, was their something I should've done differently? I wrote "WARNING, they seem very spoiler filled."

Oh, peterinmanhattan, I didn't mean to criticize you. You were very clear. It was meant to be a general warning. My apologies!

No worries Patcat, none at all. It looks so much like classic LOCI, that it brings back all the sentimentality that I had "come to terms with" since the news of their departure broke. Also is it my imagination, but does Rodgers look so much better with long hair. I was watching the mothership last night on NBC, and I saw a promo for an upcoming episode, and I couldn't believe how good she looks. Oh well, so much for speculation, we shall all know fifty percent of what's going on in just a few short hours (seven and a half for us east coasters).
