I was totally blown away by this movie. It's original, bold, audacious, ambitious, a tour-de-force mind trip not to be missed. For those who like intelligent thought-provoking films, want something more than mere escapist entertainment and are seeking an alternative to the prequels, sequels, and so-called summer "blockbusters," this just might be the movie for you.
Christopher Nolan has outdone himself; I enjoyed his earlier work Memento but this movie is by far his greatest achievement.
Where do our thoughts and dreams come from? How do we know what is "real" and what is not? There are no easy answers to these most basic questions, and this movie doesn't make the mistake to provide answers, only more disturbing and unsettling questions.
Leonardo DiCaprio continues to stretch his acting range and goes beyond what he accomplished in Shutter Island.
I give Inception 4+ stars for a mind-bending journey of a lifetime.

I absolutely loved this film, as did my middle son (he's 22). It isn't for everyone, since it does require real in-depth attention while watching it and is as multi-leveled as are the dreams it presents to the viewer. It requires at least two viewings, IMO.
If it doesn't win best picture this year, I'll be shocked. The acting was good, but no one's performance really stood out except the actress who played Leo D's wife Moll. She was mesmerizing.
If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to catch it before it leaves theaters. It's a film that should be seen on the big screen.

Thank you for the recommendations Techguy and Donnjo.
I've recently watched Shutter Island the The Departed and I'm still reeling.

If you liked "Shutter island," Jeffan, you will love "Inception."
"Shutter Island" also needs a second viewing, for obvious reasons. You catch so much more the second time.

Thanks Donnajo. I hope to see Inception soon as it's still on in my local theatre. I was a bit miffied because a couple of friends went to see it and didn't invite me. Their excuse was that they thought I didn't like Leonardo DiCaprio. Anyway, they don't mind going again as it's such a fantastic film - and the popcorn is on them.
Exactly about Shutter Island.
