FOX has updated its site for the show: www.fox.com/house/House-isms are included in the Features section. Leslie Hope was great in last night's episode. I guess they can't save all of the patients. Anyone think "rabies" when the bats came flying out of her little tent? Wilson: In Swedish, the word "friend" can also be translated as "limping twerp". ;D

That was a great episode! I was sniffeling when Hope was dying at the end. And man, those rabies shots are nothing nice! I didn't know you got shot-up in your stomach! I like Wilson, he's not afraid to take House down a few notches, and we got some background info on him and his family in the last scene.

shot in the stomach? did the patient get bit in the stomach? Normal procedure for rabies vaccine in response to a possible infection .... is to inject you where you got the bite ..... most people get bit on the hand petting an animal & have to get the shots in their fingers!!! OUCH, eh?
OT - from a bio-geek, sorry, I don't watch the show.

The patient was bitten by a bat, but it was too late for a treatment. The patient bit the Doctor on his hand, at the base of thumb and left a nice set of teeth marks. It was the Doctor who got the shot in the stomach. That was some needle. You should watch an episode, from a "bio-geek" perspective. ;D It's on Tuesdays at 9:00. ETA: MelTex, I was also at the end.

I saw one episode: the one where the boys were poisoned by chemicals on their pants.
This show reminds me of the arrogant doctors on "Chicago Hope". They acted like they thought they were God. Dr. House seems to bully patients into taking treatments even though he had misdiagnosed them. It seemed he didn't bother taking time to properly diagnose the patients. He is too much of a hurry to go back and hibernate.
Maybe I'm taking this too seriously or just being grouchy right now (LOL), but does anyone have a different take on my view? Is Dr. house like THAT all of the time?

Seems to me that Dr. House is more impatient than arrogant. And his impatience is fueled by his own pain. And having to work in the clinic. The only one who seems to understand him is Dr. Wilson. I guess all geniuses are misunderstood. ;D

WOW! That was one heck of an episode last night!
Not only was the boy's case horrible... and who'd have thought of Termite poisoning!? (now I want to have my house fumigated)
But House's performance going through withdrawls was awesome! Loved the way Wilson doesn't give him any slack...but I wasn't that surprised House wouldn't give up on the pain killers.
He's a complex character...one I hope to learn more about.

That was an awesome episode, second only to "DNR". Hugh Laurie kicked some major butt last night.
I wonder what will happen if House ever finds out that Wilson is the one responsible for the little bet?
I wasn't surprised either with House going back to the Vicaden (sp?).

Is it just me, or is it just a little scary that House can chew the Vicodin tablets...without water!
Dang, thats hard core!
And I'm no doctor or bio-tech, but can a person take that much Vicodin (sp?) a day and still function? I mean, I know he's supposed to have built up this increadible tolerance -- therefor being able to pop the pills like tic-tacs. But those pills weren't small! And I know Vicodin is no match to something the strength of say... Oxicontin (sp?)...which is supposed to be many times stronger than Morphine (not sure about that strength quantitative amount, I'll have to look that up in American Journal of Medicine or something)

He must have a lot of saliva in his mouth, for the pill to just slide on down like that! The only thing I've ever just swallowed without any liquid was a Tylenol caplet.

I just read that Fox has at last renewed House for a second full season... and that they got 15.6 million viewers this past week, highest to date (got this from TV Guide online). I love this show... I am almost as addicted to it as LOCI... and here is a shoutout to the other BlackAdder fans in attendance kissy

This week was the first time I watched the closing credits. They started off with "NBC Universal Television..."
One would presume that NBC passed on House?

I think NBC may have passed on HOUSE in favor of MEDICAL INVESTIGATIONS. Almost as big a mistake as ABC passing on MONK.
Patcat (who's getting nothing done what with MONK, and HOUSE, and LOCI...)

TVGuide had a nice article about Huge Laurie in this week's tvguide magazine. He seems pretty surprised about the popularity of the show, and says that "they pull the plug on stuff so easily these days". Even though the network has signed for a season 2 already, he's remaining wary. It's a good article. www.tvguide.com
