House is the only show besides CI that I watch regularly. Mostly because of Hugh and Vincent! Both great shows and great characters!

I couldn't agree more! These are my two favorite shows on network TV right now. And they have my two TV fake-boyfriends on it. I'm in heaven. I also agree about Three Stories. Some of the best TV, ever. Period. I usually don't watch reruns during the summer, but I am watching these reruns. When I'm not reading and posting about LOCI I am obsessively doing so about House (except on the official Fox site).

The first season DVD of House is available to pre-order from Amazon right now. I think it's coming out end of August? or thereabouts. This is another show that I can actually watch the episodes over and over, like L&O CI and unlike, say Lost. where I find the 2nd viewing kind of boring.

House has been on about a month here in the UK. i don't know what the general opinion is but i am really enjoying it, and the critics seem to like it too. strange seeing hugh laurie in a serious role, same strange feeling i get whenever his comedy partner stephen fry is in a serious role. i hope that they keep a degree of mystery aout the doc's personal lives. and it's good to see jesse spencer on screen again. i spent my years at university watching him in the oz soap Neighbours. it's always fun watching out for old oz soap actors in US shows. i'm glad that the show House hasn't felt the need to explain why an australian is on the team unlike ER who went into great lengths about why Corday was in the US

What do you think--should Hugh Laurie get the emmy?

Well, he's certainly put in a lot of fine performances over the season.
BTW, Three Stories is repeating next Tuesday at 9:00 (the second of two episodes airing on the 30th)

If your cable system provides BBC America, the channel is showing BLACKADDER GOES FORTH, in which Mr. Laurie plays a superb example of English upper class twit, but with an extremely touching side.

We get two BBC Canada channels. Black Adder is on every night at 9:30. He is brilliant as the 'twit'.

While Miss Elena (Popularlibrary) had tried to get me to watch House all season long, I was always way too busy on Tuesdays. Boy did I miss out! Now I am completely enthralled. I just got my S1 DVD, which I highly recommend to any fan of the show. The extras include some very interesting interviews, along with Laurie's audition tape, which he taped in a hotel bathroom in Africa while on-location for a film.
Laurie should get the emmy for best drama actor HANDS DOWN. His facial expressions alone make the show for me. I can't recommend it highly enough now. It beats anything CI and D'Onofrio did in S4, with the possible exception of "Want".

Hugh Laurie will be on "The Tonight Show" tonight (NBC at 11:35PM). He was quite charming the last time he was on Leno. ETA: The film he was working on in Africa was the remake of "Flight of the Phoenix". It's really quite good.

That seems to be the problem with most talk show hosts. Also probably why I rarely watch Leno, etc. Used to be, during Mr. Carson's time, I hardly ever missed a show (of course, I was much younger then and could stay awake longer )

I liked the first Leno interview better. You can find the video clip on www.hughlaurie.net . Last night's interview focused more on Laurie and his family than on House. He was witty as usual and I felt for him when his joke about watching British sports fell flat (the audience didn't get it). I wish Reese Witherspoon would have stopped giggling and distracting the interview. The Laurie website will probably post it soon. D.

FYI Season 2 spoiler of interest to D'Onofrio fans:
SPOILER SPACE
S P O I L E R S
According to the TV Guide as posted on Laurie sites, Gregory House's parents are going to be introduced during S2. Playing the House pere will be none other than R. Lee Ermey, the drill sergeant from FULL METAL JACKET.
If that's the case, all I can say is HOLY CRAP! What a show that will be!
********************* From TV Guide Online:
Question: I need some House scoop! — Dixie
Ausiello: Producers have cast House's parents — and they're two people I've never heard of! Diane Baker (A Mighty Wind, HBO's Unscripted) and R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket) have been tapped to play Blythe and John House. They'll turn up in the fifth episode.
