Thanks for the heads-up, but TCM is showing Bob Hope in "My Favorite Spy" at 8:00 tonight. Will Bravo do a repeat for the West Coast later tonight?

Mr. Laurie will be on The Tonight Show w/Leno on Thursday, August 31 st. They must have really bonded over motorbikes. This is HL's third appearance on that show.

I just watched the 2 episodes with the commentaries, including the season finale for this past season. If anyone listens to the commentary, there is a revelation about the name of the patient played by Elias Koteas. It is on www.tv.com but the producers say it was not mentioned on screen only in the script. Interesting.

I'm anxiously awaiting tonight's season premier. It doesn't rank up there with CI for me, but I love House

I love HOUSE, and I'm eagerly looking forward to new episodes. Having written that, I also need to say that I don't think it's as groundbreaking as its creators and some critics seem to think. It's not the first show to have an unsympathetic hero--hello, does anyone watch LOCI? Monk?--and it is a formula show. The cast, especially Hugh Laurie, cover a lot of flaws in the show. But, as I wrote, I do love it and think it's better than most television.

So, did everyone like the kinder, gentler House? (g)
My soon to be ten year old friend Zach said, "Are we watching the right show?"
Zach loves HOUSE. He says it's because of the "science". I say it's because House gets away with everything--Zach agrees I may be right.
Zach doesn't trust Chase--he thinks he's a bad doctor.

Overall, I thought it was a decent episode. A bit predictable with House's pain coming back. I didn't like him stealing the Rx pad from Wilson's office at the end though.
I did like the way he dealt with the mother and son. Trying to give them hope yet still maintaining a level of "obnoxiousness" that is true to his character.
Loved that the man got up after the Cortisol (sp?) shot and that Cuddy administered it. I didn't quite understand why House was told he couldn't do it if it posed no potential problem to the man if House was wrong. I know Cuddy thought he was just "guessing", but at that point wouldn't they want to exhaust every possible option regardless of how far fetched it seemed? The man had nothing to lose.
Didn't like the comment at the end about not telling House because "he was wrong, even if he was right". A lot to think about.
Next week looks interesting.

Hey Sarahlee, I just had to go back and check my dvr recording of last nights episode. I was pretty sure I heard "cortisol" and figured it was some sort of cortisone derivative. I've always had a fascination with the medical field. When I was very young my dad was in pharmacuetical sales. I used to spend hours looking through his PDRs. I know, I'm pretty pathetic from Merriam-Webster online - cortisol One entry found for cortisol. Main Entry: cor·ti·sol Pronunciation: 'kor-t&-"sol, -"zol, -"sOl, -"zOl Function: noun Etymology: cortisone + 1-ol : a glucocorticoid C21H30O5 produced by the adrenal cortex upon stimulation by ACTH that mediates various metabolic processes (as gluconeogenesis), has anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties, and whose levels in the blood may become elevated in response to physical or psychological stress -- called also hydrocortisone

Zach doesn't trust Chase--he thinks he's a bad doctor. I think your friend Zach is right. Chase sold out House once before, who is to say he won't do it again.
