cifan---I apologize, I didn't see the epi, but I can tell you this-- cortizone, is a steroid and ususally administered by injection. Cortisol secreted by the thyroid in reaction to stress. Cortisol-steroid is the manufactured form of cortisol, injected. Class dismissed! ;D

Wow what an episode. I understand why Cuddy said no to House. Even though that if it didn't work, there was no harm done, it is the principal that he can't always get his way like he has in the past.
Many great moments in this episode. When the guy got up I was really happy for him. And Cuddy that she made the right choice (morally and not ethically). Also the scene where House looks at all the X-Rays. Looks to Foreman who refuses. Then to Chase .... "how many millimeters?" hahaha.
I also thought it was right of Wilson and Cuddy to not tell House. He may have solved it this time but if he gets used to getting his way whether through proper channels or doing it illegally (like he has done many times) he will become an egomaniac. That's how I see it. Will post more after I watch it again.

Thanks for clarifying that sarahlee . I understand what you're saying jefferaldo, Cuddy was standing on principal and House can't always get his way. I question Cuddy's motives for saying "no" however. I don't think the decision should have been made at the expense of a patients well being and I think Cuddy realized that and made the right decision by giving the patient the injection herself. As far as Wilson and Cuddy not telling House, the jury is still out on that one.

Does anyone know for sure if House is being repurposed on USA Network this fall? I have seen in USA Today and on the USA website where there is a pattern of showing the Tuesday episode and repeating it on Fridays at 11 p.m. a week later.
I will check this out this Friday. If the episode with Joel Grey airs Friday this does mean the show is being repurposed on Fridays by USA Network which could be very useful just like it is with L&O:CI and L&O:SVU.

I believe USA is still showing the most recent episode roughly a week after its showing on FOX. That was true of the season premiere.

Thanks for the info, Patcat. I seem never to stay up when I want to; I'll have to remember to record it.
Hugh Laurie is also scheduled to be on Larry King on October 20th.

Was Mr. Laurie on the Larry King show on the 20th? If so, did he get to say anything? (g)
And a reminder that Mr. Laurie will host SNL this weekend.

Patcat "Apparently, the news that Hugh was to be on Larry King on 10/20/06 has not panned out. Sorry for the error!"Source : www.hughlauriefaq.com I did go to www.youtube.com and they have several of his interviews on that site including the Bravo interview and other talk show appearances and his old Polaroid commercial.

I watched House this week when the girl needed a bone marrow transplant from her father/not her father guy.
It was ok but I admit it didn't hold my interest all the way through. I'm finding the plots are basically the same which is a problem I have with CSI. The dialogue is still wicked though.

For House and/or Dave Matthews fans--this item from TVGuide's "Ausiello Report":Guest StarHouse Casting News!
I just received a tip that Grammy winner Dave Matthews (of Dave Matthews Band fame) will guest-star on House this February. According to my spy, the "Crash" crooner will play the show's victim of the week — in this case, a pianist (tee-hee) who comes down with a (shocker!) mysterious illness.
Unless Wikipedia is I'm mistaken, this is Matthews' first major acting gig on the small screen. His film credits include 2003's Where the Red Fern Grows, 2005's Because of Winn-Dixie and the upcoming indie Lake City.

Well now David Morse would be free to play Goren's brother. He is the right age and height and is a very good actor. He can play a guy who has had a hard time but is trying to get things right. He was like that in Hack.
Hugh Laurie as Goren's brother would be a pipe dream since it currently airs opposite CI. Otherwise, it could work since Anthony LaPaglia guest starred as Nile's brother in law on Frasier and won an Emmy when Without A Trace was on the air.
P.S. Speaking of David Morse, it looks like David Morse's House arch did not go over that well with the House viewer of this Q and A from TV Guide :
"Question: How did you feel about how the writers of House wrapped up the Tritter story line? Am I the only one who thought it was a very limp end to an excruciatingly annoying plotline? I was hoping the creative team would surprise us all and have some bang-up ending to reward us for sticking around until it played out, but I only felt more frustrated when the credits rolled. All that, and no conceivable change in House? In the end, this story didn't seem to do anything to drive the narrative forward. Outside of a seemingly sincere apology to Wilson, all is the same with House and his team. (And the apology won't really change things anyway; Wilson is too loyal to House.) I felt as if almost all of the characters suddenly became unidentifiable and inconsistent. Cuddy simultaneously enabled and scolded House; Wilson was willing to give up his career and his patients just because House was acting like a spoiled teenager; and Cameron never said or did anything that jived with the history of her character. Am I overreacting? Overthinking? Obviously, I know it's just a TV show, but I'm stunned that things went so haywire on a show that has been so solid and consistent with character development. It's like the chief architect of the story disappeared or something, and they just didn't tell the media or viewers, hoping no one would notice a change.— Suzanne Matt Roush: I agree that the resolution was pretty anticlimactic, and I didn't know what to make of the twist that someone had been slipping him Vicodin through all of this so-called rehab. (Tritter was right; actions do speak louder than words.) That said, I'm glad House has curbed the Tritter story line, which in the big picture of things was hardly the show's finest hour (or hours). One big flaw in this story arc was that we knew too little about House's new nemesis, except that House ticked him off, and because our favorite curmudgeon refused to apologize, it set in motion a vengeful plot that at times felt like it was rivaling Les Miserables. I do empathize with a show like House that tries to expand beyond the patient-of-the-week procedural. And during the part of Tritter's crusade in which he targeted each of House's colleagues, I liked how this crisis forced each of the characters to examine their unhealthy relationship with their mentor. But ultimately, the story went on too long for its own good and began to feel as ridiculous as it was annoying. If the final act of this arc wasn't satisfying, especially if you were expecting more fireworks (as I was), it may be because the entire venture was a bit of a mistake. In the world of TV, sometimes you don't realize a mistake until you're already too far along to pull back. Bad things happen to good shows, but that doesn't mean the show has gone bad. I'm anxious to see new episodes later this month, especially now that this albatross has been shed. " Source : TV Guide.
