NikkiGreen, my sincere condolences and sympathy to you and your family for your Dad's passing. I hope you will all take comfort from knowing he got his wish to die peacefully in his sleep, and that is is finally free from pain. It must have meant a lot to him to have had the traditional birthday/Christmas Eve party early. I'm sure having his family around to take part must have been a source of comfort and relief for him too. May you derive strength from these memories. Take care of yourself now and be at peace knowing you did everything possible for your Dad.

I'm glad it was so peaceful for your Dad, and it sounds like the hospice staff was very good. At least y'all did have a get-together for everybody, I hope that helped.
We all love you, Nikki. And hugs to your family.

Observer, I will definitely be thinking of your nephew, you, and the rest of the family during this difficult time. Love and hugs to y'all as well.
Peace and comfort to all.

NikkiGreen -- My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I lost my Dad nearly 10 years ago and my Mom 2 years ago and if it weren't for the love and support of my family I don't think I would have made it through. It sounds like you have that support as well, and you will each take turns being strong for each other.
