I'm appalled at some of the accusations mentioned here. For a minute or two, I thought I somehow got connected with DL, because that's the level this thread is sinking to. What is DL, are you a member there too I cant see where my posts are of an accusation of sorts, who are you refering to exactly

DL as in Data Lounge, a gossip site. I don't think she meant you.

Let me go on record right here that my "unofficial poll" (earlier in this thread) was meant to be somewhat facetious.
These periods between new episodes are exceedingly boring, especially with Season 8 on-air promotion so dull, thus the poll emerged as something to do.
AL
P.S. On the other hand, Mr. D'Onofrio is clearly not aging well and that's had an enormous impact in the direction of his character. (My thoughts on that have been expressed already in the "CI and Art of Character Maintenance" thread.)

Uh - he just looks like he's in the middle of a conversation and possibly wonders what the photog is doing. I don't think he looks sinister at all. He doesn't look mad, either. Photog dude needs to lighten up. Of course, I am a DroolingFan Girl!

mauigirl, I agree, this thread (and parts) of this site are sinking to a lower level from whence they started from. DRUNK, SINISTER, STONED, OLD!!!!! I'm going to give Mr. D'Onofrio the high road here and the "photographer" the ditch...........and some members, the gutter.

Perhaps you could enlighten those of us who are under the impression that we are allowed to voice our differing (and truthful) opinions what exactly brings about some of us (and this site) being placed in a 'gutter'?

I don't mind people voicing their opinions, that's why we're here. But "truthful"? How can some people look at a picture and determine that some one is "drunk" or "stoned"?? Look at some of the other posts. Varying opinions are good but, bashing or running someone through the gutter is uncalled for.

Everyone's opinion counts, but jeez, do we need to be so brutal? What's the point? Now, if it were meant as a joke, OK, I guess. But still, this might seem random, but David Duchovny is obviously having some problems. Should we go over to his fansites and rag on him? That would be hurtful and pointless. Anyway, I'm done.

Let's leave what is appropriate discussion up to our Moderators to decide, OK? If something is deemed inappropriate for this site, they will edit it accordingly.

I think we should be able to voice our opinions appropriately. I didn't really have a problem, with the poll, but some can be scathing toward Vincent, to the point of "And....you're a fan?" but I tend to agree with Outerbankschick assessement.

I thought the poll was wry and provocative, the latter in a yeasty sense.
As her many thought-provoking posts reveal, Annabelleleigh is a connoisseur more than a 'fan'. IMO, that's a very healthy thing for an entertainment forum.
I have no idea what is coursing through VDO's bloodstream, but I can see for myself that he has aged very rapidly over the last 36 months. Nothing gutterish about it.

Complete agreement with the mods having the say as to what is appropriate opinion and what isn't. In the mean time if you find someone's posted opinion distastful ignore it....or respond with your opinion. We have a subject we are commenting on and it is either pro or con. I just don't like things to sink to a poster trashing another poster simply because someone called 'em like he saw 'em about VDO's appearance. That being said.....here's my opinion on VDO's appearance......I think he looks terrible. He hasn't aged well and has become physically unappealing due to the puffy/bloaty look. He now lumbers when he walks and I don't believe this is him "embracing his character". This is my opinion to a subject thread. If you disagree with it then respond as to why you think he is buff and agile.

Well, here's one more who thinks he looks terrible - which I really find sad :-(
I think someone else already mentioned it: He looks well over 60 and that ugly beard contributes a lot to that.
I was wishing for a "clean" (is this the right word?) look for the next LOCI season so much :-(

You seem to be saying that it's okay to have an opinion, as long as members refrain from speaking their minds and shy away from the truth. Unfortunately, the truth is not always sweet. Most times, it's bitter.

I don't think he looks terrible. I do think he looks very slightly irritated as though the picture-snapping interrupted his conversation and he definitely looks older but I've seen him look worse, for instance back when he was fainting, that season of episode really showed how tired he looked. He does look tired and overweight and not healthy - like he needs a couple weeks on a beach. A tan would do wonders for him. I know smoking plugs up veins and arteries leaving smokers pale, listless and puffy. He really needs to quit it and get some excercise - real cardio not just pumping weights. It's also obvious his two companions are hanging onto his every word so he's still got his unique 'it' factor thing.
