Welcome, coyote. Thank you so much for your comments about your experience with VDO & Toni. How wonderful for you & your son. A great picture of the two of them. I have to agree with diab on this whole posting opinions thing. Fuzzy is still an active member of this board, and has continued to join our discussions days after the debate that you are talking about on the other VDO thread. Yes, some people can be blunt here. But if you read the posts carefully, you will see that the poster herself or himself is never the target of the criticism. That will not be tolerated by our Mod's here. So please join us and understand that any & all comments about the show, the cast, the crew & really all topics, are welcome & debated. In spite of our criticisms, we're all avid fans of LOCI and VDO, or we wouldn't be here, LOL! ;D As to "targets" i have to disagree, otherwise members posts would not have been deleted by Admin over time in some threads.

As I stated....the Mod's will not tolerate criticisms of the members, therefore the editing.

Welcome to the board, and thanks for your telling of your encounters with Mr. D'Onofrio. Just from reading, I've gained the sense that Mr. D'Onofrio is very gracious with fans. With members of the tabloid world, maybe not so much, and that might be the cause of some of the unfavorable ink he gets.

"Please don't pull your punches on your opinions of others' opinions. An example for you is your opinion on VDO bashing. I also ask you to explain your opinion of quot;bashing". I am curious if it is the same as mine." Diablodeblanco: Sorry, certainly did not mean to pull any punches and no ill will intended. I guess coming from the tail end of the baby boomers (with older parents) and not the gen x or y generation my interpretation of "beating someone up or bashing" is a little more old school. My parents really drove home the whole "if you can't say something nice ..." creed. It is still really hard for me to get out from under all that programming and consider CRITICISM of someone for something that you don't like as constructive. I was taught that it is just mean-spirited, especially when you are talking about someone that you don't really know and may not have all the facts. I am just saying this is what I was taught, and the way the back and forth on the postings appeared to me, not that anyone on the board had intent to be mean-spirited to anyone. I had heard this was a good place to discuss the episodes and other things about the series and the characters. That's really what I was looking for since the opinions seem to vary on whether the series is going up or down hill and if season 8 will be the last. With a little free time between classes and some extra days off from work this week I thought I would check it out and that is probably the part of the board where I will spend my time in the future. Having been on some of the other VDO sites that were mostly complimentary I was really unprepared for open discussion on things like what may have led to VDO and his wife separating. My parental programming made me cringe on that exchange but I guess that is not considered off limits here. Personally how shallow am I that one of my major astonishments was that VDOs haircut caught me by surprise too. I compared it on another website to when Antonio B. became involved with Melanie G.. Antonio's haircut, which he still wears, I considered "the wife's attempt to make her husband physically unattractive to anyone else" haircut. I was pleasantly surprised to find that VDOs haircut really looks better in person than in photos. He was also due on set at 6AM on 12/13 for something I think was unrelated to LOCI so hopefully it is only temporary. So shallow of me ! DonnaJo: Thanks for the friendly clarification on the board' s intent.

How nice of you to thank me, coyote. I'm glad that you will be posting when you have time, especially on the threads pertaining to the episode. And we'll be "debating" on how the new showrunners will do this upcoming season. I'm sure. ;D I must be shallow too, LOL, since I also posted the hope that Vincent's buzz cut was for the film he was shooting at 6:00am that morning. Please.....let that be the case!

Coyote--You heard right about this being a good place to post. JMHO. I enjoy the back and forth. It is an eye opener to others' take on LOCI. Never be afraid or reluctant to post your thoughts!!!! As far as the baby boomer education...LOL, I am 60. Generation X/Y mystify me. I don't believe it was shallow of you to react to the buzz cut. It was a perfectly normal thing to do when you see that head of hair suddenly gone. If your best friend came to work with haired dyed yellow and magenta wouldn't you tell her the truth?....in a way that got your point across but let her know it didn't bring out her best features. Me....my response would have been "what the hell!!!". BTW I don't have many friends........ LOL The ones I have appreciate and depend on the candor. Keep posting, we love opinions here. As I have stated before it is difficult to know exactly what the intended tone of the post is because we can't see or hear the poster's face or voice. Again, welcome to LOCI!!

Count me in on the "shallow brigade". ROTFL! I really love his curls so I will wait patiently while it grows back out. As for opinions, I've often posted the exact opposite opinion of a few people here (see my Goren North/Goren South post in another thread), and I don't take offense when others don't agree with me. I think sometimes it's just that people tend to take disagreement personally and sometimes you just have to remind yourself that you'll never be in a situation where absolutely everyone agrees with your POV. Egads, how boring would that be???

I'm back.......let's see for how long this time.
Since I was banned on 12/15, I've had plenty of time to read posts. I've also had plenty of time to get angry and then laugh at the whole situation...........
Our interest of LOCI is why we are here. Some are more eloquent than others. I commend coyote for her wonderful story and FANtastic pictures. What a treat!
Contrary to diablo and DJ, I was banned by a staff member.......not for posts, but for responding to emails from said staff member. Needless to say we get under each others' skin and I expect to be banned again after he/she reads this. The staff member had the power to ban me, I had no recourse but to wait and post on other sites. Freedom of opinion? Abuse of power? Matters what side you're on, I guess. I like being here. I do not intentionally cause discord, as I was accused of by the staff member. I was responding to the staff member's emails, not to any posts. All of us are a minority of opinion at times, does that mean that we should sit and take it? Does it mean that we should NOT express ourselves? I was told that I will be banned if I "step over the line again" or cause "discord". The problem seems to be between me and the staff member. If I'm to be banned it should be for something said on the posts (public) not for emails (private). I expect to be banned for this and I expect this to be deleted.

Fuzzytweetie,
I applaud you for your courage!!
I don't watch the show much anymore, and it's NOT the writing or the acting of the show. It's the boards, the double standards, the 'paid posters' who have agenda's. If you don't go along with the direction of the boards, which changes as the writers of the show changes. You might as well not post.
Whenever I see a LOCI or SVU or L&O episode anymore, it just reminds, how ALL of the boards, not just this one, have used and abused people. It's sad, cause with the Internet, we have the ability to find people, who like what we like, but...... I think we all pay a high cost in the end. Because of the double standards. Some posts are kept up, by moderators if they don't like you, to shame you....while others are taken down, cause that was there friend.
It happens on ALL boards, not just this one.....

FT--I wasn't aware you were banned. I was hoping for more discussion between you and me. I also hope you won't stop posting. I am at a loss to understand the difference between discord and a lively back and forth. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to explain it to me. I enjoy everyone's opinions here. Also a hello and I have missed you to Cassie.

Fuzzy, I also had no idea about your situation. I really & truly hope that you will choose to stay & join us. Over the years I've had my own conflicts on various boards. Comments can get misinterpreted and misconstrued when posting. Usually tempers cease & things go back to normal. If only we had some tangible info to dissect, like new episodes? It's good to "see" you Cassie. I hope that Jeffrey is doing well?

Well color me stunned. I have never thought there was any sort of "agenda" to this board. It seems to me that if there was, or that someone only wanted favorable opinions of the show and the actors, this board wouldn't be the place to find that. I've seen lots of differing opinions here, and read plenty of complaints about the direction of the show as opposed to where some would like it to be. And as far as the actors, well. . . Yeah, we all know who is the lightning rod in that respect. FT, I hope you will stick around, and I join DonnaJo in saying "Hello" to you Cassie. You've been away for awhile!

Only being on 2 boards, I hadn't noticed this before. The other board I'm on tends to be civilised and everyone stays polite! I got pmed here by a moderator concerning my "tone" when I posted that I felt a thread had become a free for all VDO bashing session. I hadn't insulted anyone, nor disagreed with anyone in my post.. So yes Fuzzie and Cassie...there is a double standard here.. and it changes according to the writers.. also the poster... It's hard to keep up and know what's acceptable and what isn't. As for the "paid posters" I had been warned about this and found it hard to believe, but there are so many with similar names that it just became obvious to me. I posted a comment about needing a "fire extinguisher" because of all the fire related names. That comment "disappeared". I wonder how long these posts will be up, and if I'll be banned... It really is sad. But hey...they aren't my marbles and this isn't my house...and I did choose to come play here.. Welcome back Cassie. Was it nice to get back home?

I've been a very active member of this Board for close to two years now. I haven't noticed any double standard, or a connection between names that connote "fire" and being some sort of paid double agent. I mean, who would bother? The show isn't even popular anymore - it's just us few folks who even care about it. I find the whole idea absurd (please....no offense, lily and cassie). I've had my share of pm's too, when I've gotten a little too personal with my comments. But I feel that I can pretty much say what I want about the show, the cast. the crew, politics..you name it..and not be mocked or insulted for it. There are many sites that will not tolerate any criticisms of VDO. We all know which ones they are. There, he walks on water. Certain members will eat you alive. Talk about an agenda!
