The Closer

I've been gone for awhile, illness in the family, but I was wondering if any of you have caught TNT's The Closer starring Kyra Sedgwick and JK Simmons? I've watched a couple of episodes and the stories seem to be pretty good. I'm a sucker for a good "interview room" scene! I think the show is doing well in terms of ratings.

Sedgwick's character is quirky, unusual, and resented by the people she works with on a daily basis, but she is in the job because she closes cases. It's not L&O, but the cases are interesting.

I want to watch this show, but keep forgetting to. I did manage to see half an episode a few weeks back and liked the character's attitude. Do you know if it reruns another night?

I'm in the central time zone. The Closer shows here on Mondays at 8pm and repeats at 11pm then repeats again on Tuesdays at 10pm. It's pretty good and I like the way they have her as such an outsider (even disliked by the others) in her unit. She's smart and confident in what she does, but she's also vulnerable. She can't be that sensitive to what she does and be impervious to the dislike around her.

We don't get to see it, but don't you think that the other detectives in the major case squad must groan when they see Goren coming? You know that he would feel that and bury it deep!

It's a great show! i cant wait untl season 2! Kyra Sedgwick's character is sush a strong female lead... something that you dont often see in a TV cop show. She kind of reminds me of Dee Dee Mcall (sp???) from the series 'Hunter'.

Man, I just saw this for the first time. It was the season opener and man was it good. I even thought it would be sweet if the writer for this show wrote for CI. Really, the writing was that good. Especially the end, where she pieces it all together and then you realize just how smart she is.

This show is one of the TV highlights of summer along with Monk. I just purchased the DVD set.

I saw CLOSER when it first aired, and I've been a fan since. Thought: How would K.Sedgwick do as Logan new partner? I realize that won't happen, but it might be an interesting combination.

On September 4, 2006, TNT is airing a marathon of all 12 second season episodes including Blue Blood (the second season premiere episode) from about 9 a.m. Eastern to 9 p.m. when the season finale of The Closer will air in its regular time slot.

A holiday 2 hour episode of The Closer will be airing on TNT on Monday December 4 at both 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. It is directed by Kevin Bacon.

I have loved this show since it first aired. If it ever went head to head with LOCI, I would be very conflicted. I'd have to figure out how to tape both so I wouldn't miss anything!

I like The Closer as well. I just hope they continue to realize the show does well due in a large part because it airs in the summer where viewers can watch it without conflict. I do hope TNT continues to also air the episodes more than once and continues to have marathons.
