MURDER OF RADIO MAGNATE'S SON POINTS TO PATRON'S FOREIGN-BORN WIFE -- When the scion of a powerful radio magnate Jonas (guest star Malcolm McDowell) is found murdered under bizarre circumstances, Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) believe the crime is connected to a power struggle over the family trust as they focus on the patron's Chinese-born wife, Anna (guest star Cindy Cheung). However, the detectives also keep circling around a pair of Megan's friends -- a kinky professor who is her ex-husband and a mysterious businessman, both of whom had their own reasons to kill. Jamey Sheridan and Courtney B. Vance also star.

I am glad the Malcolm McDowell guest appearance is on a Goren/Eames episode. I think it is interesting that Monk and L&O:CI : Goren & Eames (2 of my favorite shows) have 2 guest stars in common :
Malcolm McDowell was in the first episode this year of Monk and D. J. Qualls (in Scared Crazy of CI) was in the latest episode of Monk.
Trivia : both Malcolm McDowell and Vincent D'Onofrio are both remembered for starring in Stanley Kubrick films.

According to www.thefutoncritic.com showwatch section, there are 23 episodes of L&O:CI scheduled for this season and only 12 have aired. Since a new episode does not air until 3/12, there should be a new episode about every Sunday until the end of the season unless on one of the Sundays they will do like they did on 11/6/05 with "Wee Hours" and have a 2 part episode. I believe in one of the Chris Noth interviews it said that "Wee Hours" was the first of a few L&O:CI movies.

Trekkers will recall that Malcolm McDowell portrayed Dr. Tolian Soran in "Star Trek: Generations."

Mr. McDowell also starred in one of my favorite movies, TIME AFTER TIME, where he played H.G. Wells.

Although the www.thefutoncritc.com says 23 episodes for this season. This is their current listing for the rest of the season. "5/14/06 (Su.) 9:00 PM (#521/522) (Tentative Date) 5/7/06 (Su.) 9:00 PM (#520) N/A 4/30/06 (Su.) 9:00 PM (#519) N/A 4/16/06 (Su.) 9:00 PM (#518) N/A 4/9/06 (Su.) 9:00 PM (#517) N/A 4/2/06 (Su.) 9:00 PM (#516) N/A 3/26/06 (Su.) 9:00 PM (#515) N/A 3/19/06 (Su.) 9:00 PM (#514) N/A 3/12/06 (Su.) 9:00 PM (#513) Proud Flesh " So maybe they are only airing 10 more episodes instead of 11 but I wonder if the one listed for 5/14 is a 2 hour movie. It will be good to see the season end with one of the 2 hour movies. I believe this is also the date of the West Wing series finale and it will air from 7-9 Eastern. I read today where Crossing Jordan will air the season finale on May 7.

March 19, 2006 at 9:00PM "Wasichu" SLAYING OF SECRET SERVICE AGENT HAS DETECTIVES SNIFFING AROUND LOBBYIST, CONGRESSMAN AND INDIAN CASINOS --The brutal beating murder of a female Secret Service agent in her home has Detectives Logan (Christopher Noth) and Barek (Annabella Sciorra) sniffing around the many clients of her husband Jay (guest star David Alan Bashche), a well-connected lobbyist who is working both for and against an unpopular tribal Indian gaming casino on Long Island. But the detectives want to know why the victim's husband hid their laptop and shredded files soon after discovering her body -- and his curious dealings with a slippery congressman widen the police investigation to include more hidden crimes. Just wondering - does anybody know what Wasichu means?
