This was article was posted on a couple of web sites.
" The 'Intent' is there Vincent D'Onofrio and Lou Taylor Pucci, who co- starred on the big screen in last year's "Thumbsucker," are reuniting for an episode of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" set to air April 30.
"He's playing a young poker phenom . . . who's used as bait by his mentor to finan cially break someone," "Criminal Intent" executive producer Rene Balcer says of Pucci's character. "Goren [D'Onofrio] sees a lot of him self in this kid. They share a common background and this kid is at a crossroads in his life. Goren sees him heading down the road to disaster and tries to pull him back to the straight- and-narrow - or, in Goren's case, the straight- and-wobbly."

"Straight and wobbly." (G)
Pucci was excellent in THUMBSUCKER, and I look forward to seeing him work with D'Onofrio again.

Wow, how awesome! I loved the chemistry between Pucci and D'Onofrio in Thumbsucker, and it'll be so amazing to see them work together again with Pucci dealing with Goren! What a huge treat for D'Onofrio fans!!!

"Slither" (rerun).......April 2, 2006 @ 9PM ET
DRAMMA GIOCOSO April 9, 2006 @ 9PM ET
A NIGHT AT THE OPERA LEADS TO MURDER WHILE DETECTIVES CATCH SOUR NOTES FROM SUSPICIOUS CONDUCTOR -- There's high drama in the opera house when a young violinist is pushed to her death and Detectives Logan (Chris Noth) and Barek (Annabella Sciorra) check out the arrogant conductor Reinhardt (guest star Julian Sands). Turns out Reinhardt also has been conducting an affair with his soprano, Gillian (guest star Alice Krige) -- who happens to be the victim's mother. While the detectives theorize that Reinhardt actually was romancing both women, they receive jarring medical news that sheds harsh new light on the evidence. Jamey Sheridan and Courtney B. Vance also star.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Another Star Trek alum makes an appearance! Trekkers will recall Alice Krige as the Borg Queen in the film "Star Trek: First Contact" and on TV in the "Star Trek: Voyager" two-part episode "Endgame."
ETA: dramma giocoso = "jocular drama" which has a tendency to mix characteristics of opera seria (serious opera) and opera buffa (comic opera). Mozart's Don Giovanni is an example of dramma giocoso.

Thanks for this, Techguy! After Wasichu, I'm starting to look forward to the Logan/Barek episodes (instead of thinking of them as place holders...).

I'm not really up on opera, but I've sung in choirs since I was 6 years old. I hope they get in a few good soprano jokes! But this reminds me of a mothership episode from some time back...

This appears to be based on the case of a violinist from the Metropolitan Opera who was killed and her body thrown down a staircase. I think this infamous case occurred about ten or so years ago.

VACANCY April 16, 2006 at 9:00PM
HOTEL OFFERS NO BED OF ROSES FOR MURDERED BRIDESMAID AS ACTOR IS SUSPECTED -- When one of two bridesmaids is found murdered in their hotel bed, Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) initially suspect two men that the women met in a bar. But when the survivor, Alice's (guest star Emily Bergl) story keeps changing, evidence suggests an actor -- Tim, (guest star Desmond Harrington) posing as a taxi driver might have played a role. The detectives peel back the layers of the suspect's life and discover disturbing evidence, family history -- and his penchant for researching twisted subjects for future acting assignments. Jamey Sheridan and Courtney B. Vance also star.
