Yet another music-related episode for Logan and Wheeler. Remember the storywheel I mentioned in the "Please Note..." thread? Spin: death in the music industry! Spin: Wheeler deals with a childhood idol!
Was it my imagination or has Logan been extra-b*tchy to Wheeler since her return? He's been making remarks that go beyond good-natured teasing, and tonight it looked like Wheeler was sick of it.
Did anyone else guess that the old rock star had a thing for young boys when he was caressing the distraught teen's knee?

I had such a difficult time figuring out what was going on in this one. I may be suffering from the CI flu After watching this episode, it became my conviction (haha, get it?) that JN is being deprived of the opportunity to develop Wheeler in to the great character she could be. Not least because she and Noth are mismatched. Time will tell.

I agree, deathroe. It's a pity that JN is reduced to so many "reaction shots" in response to CN's dialogue.

I am anxious to see how she plays her role when she is paired with Jeff Goldblum. He's going to be a lot different than Logan.

I forgot to mention the most disturbing thing about the episode for me! The rock star's wife was played by one of Bernard's harem from "Slither"...Hilary, played by Dana Wheeler-Nicholson (oh, wow! That's weird!)

Holy Hannah, that IS disturbing. I guess the title refers to the ending. I still don't get it. Maybe it was supposed to be some other kind of a reunion (like between Goren and Nicole and Donny or something ) But, you know, that idea got scotched and the writers went back to work ...

The rock star's band was going on a reunion tour, that's the only thing I can think of. Unless this was supposed to be Wheeler's first episode back....

Reunion Tour Reunion of Father and Son Those are my tops
I thought it was a solid episode; with a nice mix of teasing and seriousness. I also like the way they showed how something innocent can be misconstrued - sometimes we all are too quick to a conclusion. I did not like the over played adoration of Wheeler - we got it before that stupid seen in the soft camera light. Talk about thinking they have to hit viewers over the head.
I like that Wheeler is seeing how difficult it is to be a professional detective and have a smooth personal life - I don't think she was irritated AT LOGAN specifically - just that she was irritated she couldn't clock out on time and follow up with her plans.
Camera work was good - last scene I thought went pretty well & I was glad the father didn't blow up on the kid - as the kid had no idea & even though he was in a way undercutting him with the wife - the father realized that kids don't have the capacity to make good decisions &k it was ultimately the wife's fault. If that whinner of a wife wanted things - then she should have asked for them & left him if he wasn't going to join her in those things.
so - I think the episode was fine (not stellar)

I was so glad "Reunion" turned out not to be a recycled SVU script. I also think Chris Noth looked particularly debonair -- very Big-ish and much like a movie star. I think there were a few missed opportunities for sharper, sassier Logan lines -- but that's JM (armchair) O. Writing is difficult; criticism is easy. AL P.S. I must say I knew from the beginning that was his son. I thought it was the rocker that killed her, But it was the wife. Which was the woman from slither who looked like she got botox and a boob job.
Best part of episode, previews for next week, Love goren with scruffy beard and plain clothes. woohooo.

I, too, knew the rocker was the dad. But I thought I had seen it in a preview, and then when it wasn't revealed til the end. So I thought "way to go and blow a big reveal in the previews", but since no one else I know saw it in the preview, maybe I'm mistaken. Maybe I just figured it before hand some how??

I really liked this one a lot. I did guess very early on about Milo being Jordie's son. The minute his mother's eyes went dark and worried, I thought, "Yeah. . .here's the big secret. . .Milo's really his."
I liked the way the story went, the turns they made, though I did feel terrible for Wheeler, getting pounded that way by Logan and Ross. Seemed like they were being a little too harsh to me, but not in a mean way. It was as if they both felt they had to play "Daddy" to Wheeler and remove her rose-colored glasses with the kind of swift, slicing bluntness that would ensure she had NO illusions left about Jordie at all.
Except, for the most part, they were wrong!
And I have to say I loved the ending! I was so worried that Milo would do one of those "How could you lie to me" kind of things and run off. When Jordie leaned his forehead against his son's and told him everything would be alright, I was floored. Kudos to the writer's for giving us a positive moment there! The ending shot of father and son embracing was beautiful.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who kept looking at Tara and thinking "Hilary!" LOL!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who kept looking at Tara and thinking "Hilary!" LOL! There is a commercial whose product escapes me now and the woman in it is one of those blonde bimbos. I saw Mystic River last night and the father-in-law was played by the actor who played the awful father who tied up his victims and then let them choke themselves to death. His son's name was Keith. I remember his line something about "the night I rolled off his mother". He played an a$$hole in Mystic River also.

That actor is the same one who played Lenny's old partner on an episode of the Mothership. He was a dirty cop who tried to finger Lenny for a part in something that he had nothing to do with. I forget the why of it, but he was a real piece of work in that episode, too. Seems to me some actors get typecast as jerks an awful lot. Maybe because they're good at being bad!
