What is that foul odor I'm detecting? There's something vaguely familiar...yes, I've got it now, it's the whiff/stench of a giant RED HERRING! lol. Probably. I guess we won't know what really happens til March the premiere.

If Goren's storyline ends on a positive note - thereby not requiring any future episodes to "vindicate" him - then my hope would be that Vincent tells them to "shove it" and refuses to come back at all to save their sorry butts. However, if they do something like what was done to Logan upon his exit of the Mothership - then that will require at least one more episode to tie up his storyline.

If asked to make a special return appearance on CI sometime down the road, I think Mr. D'Onofrio will connect the dots between his treatment by NBCU and the NBC prime time/late night fiasco and respond appropriately.

All I have to say is this, if freakin' Eames dies, I WILL STAB SOMEONE IN THE EYE.

All I have to say is this, if freakin' Eames dies, I WILL STAB SOMEONE IN THE EYE. I don't want her to die I really don't. And I don't want either of them going to jail. This just all majorly blows chunks. AND it doesn't even have to happen this way. NONE of it. All they could do is simple end it like another day at the office and not show them in episodes anymore. NONE of us would complain, right?

All they could do is simple end it like another day at the office and not show them in episodes anymore. It's a bit Mary Tyler Moore-ish but perhaps more effective in its simplicity and open endedness. Lights out but life goes on. Roll the closing credits with a short video recap, like the one you posted on another thread. Unfortunately, NBC is into forced fabricated drama (late night, anyone?) and so we have a character's death to look forward to shortly.

oh i totally understand. It just would make so many of us happy and it would be an effective way to get them gone.

I agree completely with the idea presented here about ending the Goren and Eames episodes as if it were any other day. I know the networks like drama, but I think this is the best way to introduce the new detectives. The new cast can make refrences to G&E working on other cases and such. This would make an appearance by either actor (or both) easier to explain. I really hope the writers of Puntland end the G&E storylines this way.

I may have to use the ASP bat on myself, but I'd like Chief of Detectives Moran to get caught in a scandal and Ross bumped up to his job. I'd like Goren to realize he doesn't need the NYPD as much as it needs him and to move on to another job, perhaps as a consultant and/or in the academic world. Eames would be promoted to a captain for another squad, and our last view of our dynamic duo would be of them leaving Major Case for the last time. And, just as the elevator doors close, they kiss. (I know...I know...Some of you are screaming "NO!" Part of me is screaming "NO!" But another part really likes this.)

Resident fence-sitter here when it comes to ship - but as I said once before Patcat - I wouldn't mind that ending at all. It'd be damn sweet. Although I fear there are many folks that would run screaming from the room. LOL!

(I know...I know...Some of you are screaming "NO!" Part of me is screaming "NO!" But another part really likes this.) Patcat I hate to be a stickler, but Eames becoming Captain right after Goren leaves isn't going to happen. From what I understand, she's still only Detective First Grade. There are MANY steps to making it to Captain. One of the officers I used to work with has been in the same department for at least six years and she's only made it up to Sergeant. I don't think Eames has even taken the Sergeant's test. HOWEVER, I wouldn't mind seeing it... but Untapd and I have actually spoken about this and she's got a valid point. Alex likes the chase too much to be sitting in the Captain's chair. She might have seen herself there back in the beginning, but I don't see her there now. YES YES YES YES. I want a kiss. Nothing long and drawn out (you might have said this earlier) but the elevator doors closing and he leans down to kiss her. Now, generally speaking, I keep my shippy thought/ideas out this (well,I try at least) kind of environment, but I will say this. There has been many a debate over the fact that Eames is "not his type." That may very well be, but after working with her for nine-ish years, you get very attached to a person. Not to mention, I don't care of you ship or not, he needs her. See season 3 & Blind Spot. I could see Bobby falling for her and vice versa. They're both single, attractive people and Alex has put up with all his shit. That's dedication. IMO, you don't just do that for "any old partner". While partners do tend be very close, it can lead to a different dynamic. To me, some of their actions toward each other. Lady's Man comes to mind for me, when Goren is asking about whether or not she slept with Mulrooney. That has nothing to do with the case. In my shippy little brain, that is Bobby being jealous Besides, all of Goren's Girls want him to be happy, and while I think it'd be hard, I think Eames could do that for him. She'd keep him in line and love him unconditionally. ( I think I cut too much fluff with my angst tonight.) Despite what I've been accused of before, I like the chemistry between the two, and it's not about them "boinking" /Steps off soap box

Oh, I think the question of whether Eames had sex with Mulrooney had to be asked in LADY'S MAN, and it was much better (although painful for him) for Bobby to ask it than say the Captain. It had to be known how much she'd been compromised. Once Alex got over her initial anger (completely understandable), I think she realized that.
The points about the obstacles to Alex being captain are well taken, and you're all probably right. She probably likes the hunt too much to want to be a captain.
The Goren/Eames relationship is complicated and rich. Whatever it is and whatever it involves, I'd hate to have it end.

Hmmm... I hadn't thought about that Lady's Man aspect in that way. In my shippy little brain, he was a wee bit jealous I can't be helped, it's like a disease. lol About the Captain thing, now that I look at it, it came off as really B***hy and that wasn't my intention. So, I do apologize for how that came off.
