Happy Belated Anniversary, Trisha, sorry you're a sickie!
It's amazing how much a long power outage and not having water can set you back Christmas-preparation-wise. Sigh.
So much left to do! And of course on top of getting the house ready to host the big annual overnight Homestead Christmas Extravaganza (ok, that makes it sounds far more epic than it really is...it's just my mom and dad, and the hubster's mom and aunt) I have left multiple crafting projects for the last minute.
Procrastination? Nah...
Hey, I just noticed I'm a detective now. Sweet.
Happy Festivus!

Congratulations on your first decade of wedded bliss, Trisha! What a milestone! That bug's no good , though. I hope and trust that you will be sufficiently recovered in time to sample the Christmas pudding! What do Americans have these days for Christmas dessert? My mother used to make syllabub. It was pretty ordinary, but year in and year out she made this stuff, and it wouldn't quite be Christmas without it now. I continue the tradition, and yes, it's still just as ordinary.

Help me out here, guys? I just saw an episode of LO:ci in rerun and I want to post but I can't remember what it's called. It's the one where Logan is called in to help G and E with the corrupt prison guards who are hiding prisoners off the radar and torturing them. His girlfriend is the prison doctor.
What's it called? If it's season six it's not posted on the nbc site yet.

congratulations SarahIvy!
As for celebrating, I think she has to bake the turkey now - that or run around trying to find some good-looking cranberries.

I roasted the turkey, thank you very much, and the cranberries ... well, that was entirely my fault, eh? I'm a procrastinator extraordinaire! I'm feeling much better now. Thanks for all the well wishes and anniversary wishes, everyone Congrats to you on your promotion, SarahIvy!

Roast, bake, whatever...You can tell I've never gone anywhere near the back end of a turkey. My mum and my sister are the ones dashing through the snow. Seriously though, without you mothers cooking up a storm for us, Christmas and Thanksgiving would be a very sad affair.

My first long weekend off in months and wouldn't you know it, I have insomnia and there is NOTHING on TV. I'm tempted to open a certain one of my prezzies, stick it in the DVD, watch it, re-wrap it and sneak it back under the tree.

So sorry Sirenna! TBS doesn't start the 24 hours of "A Christmas Story" till Sunday evening. Last weekend my 8 year old niece and I resorted to something on our satellites "On Demand", in the "Free Channels" called "Karaoke Preview". Upon investigating, you get to pick one of 5 songs and well, you guessed it, sing along. Now, for someone with a fairly high voice, I believe I pretty well nailed "When A Man Loves a Woman" complete with the remote control doubling as a mike, but she didn't approve of the faces I was making as I was "performing". Harumph!!! We pretty much butchered a George Straight country song duet, but for an 8 year old who has probably never heard of George Michael, she did a fair job singing "Faith". At the end of each song is a blurb complete with website address to "add more fun by adding a microphone to your tv", but we declined. (The remote control worked just fine, and I'm sure the neighbors would agree). The other two songs I'd never heard of or the people who sang them, but hey "FREE" entertainment lasted for half an hour and was well worth the price! ;D For about 4 bucks I picked up a cheap "Bingo" game for tomorrow nights "festivities", and some "prizes" (candy bars, chapstick, lotto tickets, with a "Grand Prize" of a $25 Starbucks card, which I thought was only the $15 one but didn't realize it till I got home after it had been activated). Gave us something to do while the pumpkin pies were baking, without the prizes tonight though. And despite a mishap with about half the little plastic numbers falling onto the floor within reach of a 5 month old beagle puppy, we still have them all (although 32 and 65 were missing for about 3 games). My niece helped me wrap a few gifts, and then went surprisingly to bed under the old "now I gotta wrap yours" ploy.

Thanks, it only happens once in a while and at least I can catch up on my posting. I caught about three-quarters of On The Waterfront so not all bad. Incidentally, I've said it before but Vincent reminds me of Brando in looks, depth, strenth, and charisma. He is that great an actor. He needs a role though as full as Terry Malloy. No, wait he needs to want a role as full as Terry Mallory and quit wanting to be in the background. That story is funny and sweet, sobergal. I hesitate to ask but which is cuter the little girl or the puppy?

I hesitate to ask but which is cuter the little girl or the puppy? Hmmmm, I'm biased since my niece looks like me and my sister but I'll go with the kid. Right now, she is hyped with the "its almost Christmas" excitement, which actually come to think of it so is the puppy EVERY day! This does not go over well with my dog however, so its a constant game of chase until they find the cat and then gang up on her. My dog and I go hide from them all in my room.

When I had a cat, (dear kitty has now gone to his great reward) my little terrier decided that Cameron was his pet...so, whenever Tazwell decided he needed a nap, or just some company, he would set off on a great search to find the cat. No matter what nifty new hiding place Cameron (feline) found, Tazwell's (canine) unerring nose and determination always found him. Tazwell would then drag the cat to whereever he had decided to sleep that time, (Cameron never protested, just looked affronted at this assault on his dignity) nest the cat just so, and doze contentedly.
Merry Christmas to all

I just got home after working my shift. Time to have dinner with some friends, exchange a few gifts, then settle in for holiday movie viewing. After our guests leave, Mrs. T and I will head out for midnight services when she sings in the choir. After that it's off to bed for me, as I'm working again tomorrow. Whatever movie we don't get to tonight, we'll watch tomorrow since I have the films reserved for two nights. But not before we make short work of opening the rest of our presents.
