We all seem to have VERY stonge feelings one way or the other about this change-up issue...and I for one.. heartily welcome the exchange of opinions. We don't all think alike...and the variety is what makes this a great board. Absolutely! Otherwise, the first post in a thread would be immediately followed by 25 more all saying - "Me too! I agree!" Zzzzz..... LOL! That aside, I think it's interesting though, how they've decided to do it, no? Ie: Goren & Eames - Logan & ? As I was more worried about Eames being partnered with Logan; not really in love with that idea - LOL! So now I get to keep what I loved about "Batman & Robin, so to speak, chuckle! Which is a heck of a lot more than I expected to get, when I first heard the news! I still wish they hadn't felt it necessary to tinker with the show like this, for feeling they could have just used the other cast members a bit more etc, but what's done is done, eh? Like it or lump it - that's show business!

Well, I hope my post wasn't seen as negative either. After all, I did include smileys in my posts! And I'm with Rom, I like to read other posts and want to be peaceful too. And I'll say this again: I am not A D'Onofrio fan. I am a CI fan. The stories drew me to CI, not the character or the actor. I am concered about the changes as I think CI wil not have the same power storylines if they do not have a proper detective with the smarts and know-how that Goren has got. I guess I will stay paranoid until I know for sure what is really gonna go down. I'm as curious as the rest of you! hehehehe I am obviously I am not happy about the changes and at least, I'm not the only one. And I'm not much interested in gossip or sources unless things are official. A grain of salt is right. Nevertheless, I will "stay tuned"! And keep reading! ;D ;D

I cannot believe it! Away for a few days and --- The rumors have been swirling for so long, and I thought that if it ever actually happened, I'd be prepared. But I was wrong. Not only am I extremely sad, I'm SHOCKED. I will, however, give the newly configured LOCI a chance, though. And I'm beyond curious to know who Logan's partner will be. The idea of a great actress of significant stature portraying a female Holmes is almost too delicious. If they can pull that off, it might very well be terrific to get alternating episodes. So, Ointment Fly, if you're out there, the information you posted is definitely interesting to me!! I hope it ends up being true. And I agree with trisha. This IS the second time Ointment Fly's been run off the board, and not because he couldn't handle a debate or discussion, but by rude and angry responses to his posts. I've no idea whether or not he's an insider, but I do know that he's provided accurate information in the past about production schedules, before it was reported in the press. Maybe he made it up, maybe it was a lucky guess, maybe he really is an insider. I'll take the info with a mine full of salt, but I am interested. Best, LOCIfan

I think the move is a cop out on someone's part. Give me a break, there have been lead actors in hour long series even back as far as black and white TV ...... that line just stinks of an excuse. They could give D'Onofrio a break by adding more scenes with the CRIMINAL and his life & set up and plans for getting away, like they did in season 1.
I was a Logan fan, I'm thrilled to see the character back - but not convinced his spirit belongs in CI. So his partner has a lot of "profiling" pressure if they are to keep little ol' me as a CI fan.
Frankly, I think they should have 3 farewell setting episodes and get D'Onofrio the hell off the series. The bouncing back will be too distracting, the Goren character too dear to me, for me to want to deal with this cop out - for what? D'Onofrio's exhaustion? bad attitude? Either or both, points to D'Onofrio needing to get out. Good Bye. See ya.
I have been and remain a RabidFan to CI and D'Onofrio; but the real world has crept into CI and it needs to step on outta there. CI may be a good show without D'Onofrio, it may tank; that will be seen soon. But now, we look at the scenes to see if D'Onofrio looks tired (oh poor baby with no impulse control - blah); the soap is bubbling up from the real world into CI now and that is ironic. While I admire D'Onofrio, enough of this. Once more .... bye bye.

Well, I definitely do NOT want D'Onofrio to leave. He's why I was drawn to the show, and why it quickly became my favorite show. I don't know if he's difficult to work with, and as a fan, I don't care. I like him on the show and want him to stay as long as possible. However, if this is a good thing for D'Onofrio, then so be it.
The writing on the show is certainly strong, and we'll have to see if it can hold up with the "other team." I will give it a try, but I probably won't panic if I miss a Logan/? episode.

Metella, I feel your pain. Yes, not only has the “real” world infected CI, but it’s also infected this board, which is why I’m saying farewell.
Although I’m a relatively new poster, I’ve been reading this board, off and on, for over ten months. I’ve admired it.
And, as I’ve stated previously, I currently work on the creative side (hour-long drama, writer/producer) of television, so have a certain perspective on what may be going on with Criminal Intent, though have elected to keep my opinions to myself, for I am a fan of CI first; and, because nobody ever inquired (I wouldn’t have lied about my background, if asked).
The treatment OintmentFly received was the last straw.
True, it’s good to be suspicious of those asserting unsubstantiated opinions. Yet, OintmentFly appeared on this board once before (prior to my membership), and he did present several unsubstantiated posts which were roundly criticized at the time (fair enough), but which later turned out to be substantiated in the mainstream press.
While I can understand the reluctance of die-hard D’Onofrio fans’ willingness to believe anything posted by OintmentFly, I’m surprised by those who proclaim themselves Criminal Intent fans.
On the other hand, it strikes me as sort of mid-20th-Century naïve (and therefore quaint) that contemporary, educated people find it so difficult to believe that an actor portraying a well-drawn character, whom they’ve grown to like, find it intolerable to believe that D’Onofrio himself, without the mask, might be less than admirable. Sort of analogous to those who continue to believe JFK never cheated on Jackie. (And, really, does the fact that he did necessarily distract from what he accomplished in his public role? Can’t we separate the two for the sake of examination and discussion? I can.)
On either hand, I no longer respect the vocal mainstream of this board.
For what it’s worth, OintmentFly’s posts correspond with what I, personally, know to be true about the Criminal Intent set. The truths of what goes on on that set, however, have never been my reason for watching the show. I watch because I enjoy the program – in spite of what may or may not go on behind the scenes.
Yet, that’s not even at the heart of my discontent. It’s become painfully clear that only a certain “type” of discussion will be allowed on this board. Anyone voicing an unpopular opinion will be shunned and driven off the board. Yee-haw!! That’s not the type of forum this board was two months ago.
So, to Marie, MelTex, velocity, NICOLEMARIE and others of their stripe: So long, hope you continue to enjoy the circle jerk you’ve created. chuckle. Marie, you claim to be an artist, but lack an artist’s sensibilities in your posts. I can only speculate as to why you’re not still working in the industry. chuckle. And, NICOLEMARIE, you’re right. Any post with smilies in it is denuded of negative intent. ;D ;D
To trisha, Metella, NikkiGreen, domenicaflor, LOCIfan, popularlibrary, Techguy, Rom, Observer, and the rest of the old guard: I admire the site you were all instrumental in creating, and admire the intellectual openness and curiosity of your posts. You deserve better than what this site has devolved into in recent months.
Siyonara, Vance ;D

Vance, it's indeed unfortunate that some people can't differentiate between the "real" world and the "reel" world. I've read many a thing about some of my favourites (not always good)...is it even remotely true or false? I couldn't care less. My time is valuable and as long as the product is good and I'm not wasting my time, I'll stick with it. I'm quite eager to see the return of Logan. I know that's not an opinion of the majority, but it doesn't matter. It's my opinion and that's what counts. I hope that you're just taking a break and will come back some day. I have other things to say, but I have a massive headache and only came here to unwind for a few minutes while the painkillers take effect.

Hmm...well, I'm sorry Vance -- but I really don't know where in all of my posts, you think I was shunning Ointmentfly or anyone else for that matter...ANYwhere on this board. I respect, read and take into accound everyone's position on all matters be they about characters, actors or show set up of CI. Time and again, I have said that the exchange of ideas and differences in opinion was one of the great things about this board. Somewhere along the way, you seem to have thought I said different. Weather or not VDO gave the set and crew problems, or if the rumors were just rumors...I don't care. Never did. I only care if I'm gonna get to see CI on Sunday nights. I do agree with you on what you said about some people being neiive about TV stars and what they are like in real life. We're all human, and therefore...able to be pains or be easy to work with...we all are falible Sorry you feel that this board has changed so much that you have to leave. We all need to be respectful of others and their views. Romulan, Dominicaflor, Techguy, Trisha, LOCIfan, Metella and all the others have been mature and interesting chatters, who have had nothing but mature discussions with me. Along with just about everyone else on here...and personally, I value each and everyone whos ever taken the time to reply to any of my posts. *smoochies to all* I was really shocked when I read this...and if anyone has ever been offended by anything I've ever said...I prostrate myself in sorry-ness at your feet. Sorry again Vance. ~Mel

Vance,
I'm sorry to see you go. Unfortunately, I agree with much, though not all, of what you have written.
Best, LOCIfan

vance, i've gotta hand it to ya. i've been around this forum a long time, though not a frequent poster, and most of your observations are right on the money. so long, and best wishes.
p.s. vance referred to a "circle jerk" which is, i think, not the same as a "circle of jerks". a "circle jerk" is a polite term for group masturbation.

iam really not sure what to make of this devlopment on this board. vance iam sorry you feel that things have changed so much as you feel that you need to leave. in my oppion i really belvie that we all need to settle down a bit. please please people dont destory this borad like the universal board was for a long while. let all be respectful of each other. we have a good forum here lets not waste it. in my view the moderators should tempory lock this thread down untill closer to the event so as to prevent furhter disputes between mebers of this board on this. as for marie please do be respectful of other people even if you disagree with their posts( if the worst comes to worst privite message them, but try and remain nice). i feel sorry for oimentfly( if your out there please do keep posting) he has been treated rudley wether delbiberlty or not but, i think we all just need to be careful what we post( and no i dont mean censoring at all) and how we treat each other. i really like this borad and feel sorry for the moderators who put so much effort and time into putting this together, that this had happen so close to the first year anviersy of the board. as for all this iam sure as soon as new epsidoes start we will be able to talk about them and discuss them. thats enough from me( remmber this all my oppion so dont mind disaggreing with it). reagrds all rom.

GorenRocks - I think MelTex was being .... snide? as most of us will have heard that phrase.
Bye bye vance - I don't know why the others here are getting in a huff - that is the nice thing - if one doesn't want to pursue others and pin down what they are saying -they can leave & always welcome back.
I haven't been able to be as active on here as I like & I will now take that matter up with myself! Instead of checking in just once a day as I have been in the last few weeks - a multiple check in would have allowed me to help focus the discussion. So look out ...... Here she comes again
Nikki - hope all is well with your grey matter, mine is killing me now. bluchk.
