Hey, I have Wheeler's haircut! Don't look nearly as good in it, though. Patcat Some people look really great with short hair, but hers seems to be much shorter than it was last season. Or maybe it's just the style. A little gel would give it some kick. And I'm sure your cut is superb, Patcat, just like you.

"Assassins" was on again last evening.
I enjoyed seeing the little female ballistics expert (the one some of us think would be a good girlfriend for Goren) and Agent Corbert from the FBI (from "Depths").
This continuity of side characters from one ep to the next is wonderful. It really adds a realism to the series without costing too much.

I'll step out on a limb, but the reason there wasn't much discussion on this episode was, well it wasn't that good. I wish that were true, but there are numerous Goren/Eames episodes that...well....sucked big time and there are still lots of discussion in these threads. There is always room for discussion, regardless if the episode is good or bad. I miss Mikeyrock's insight of the Logan's episodes but I can understand and respect why she doesn't want to post anymore. The Goren/Eames fanbase seems so overwhelming at time that one can feel like David against Goliath when it comes to expressing his/her views and it's even worst when you don't particularly like Goren's character (speaking for myself of course). Now the episode. I liked it! It wasn't brilliant but the story held itself pretty well. I didn't mind knowing (suspecting) who was behind the whole thing. It could have been a classic case of "Whydunnit", which usually are my favorite episodes, but too much time was spent on the "Whodunnit". If some of the focus would've been put on the ill mother who suspected her daughter and the relationship between Bela and her husband (which she obviously incited to murder) we would've had a completely different point of view and I believe a more interesting one. I liked how Logan took charge of and navigated through the investigation and how he led Wheeler when she detracted from it. I felt Wheeler didn't want to believe that Bela was the instigator, the scene where she states how sorry she is for her loss was well-done.

Sorry to offend any Logan fans, but I watched the episode ''Assassin"' last night, we get it 4 days after you, and frankly what the h*ll was that all about? Noth looked for all the world as if he had already left the show, he walked through the show without a trace of interest, ( had he already made up his mind to leave and coudn't even bother to try?) Wheeler was all but relegated to a minor role and frankly the whole episode was a waste of time. Can't wait till next Thursday when Vincent is on, he never dissapoints.

Thanks for the compliment mimi - but I felt I really had to move on from this board.
I enjoy this show for its wonderful intellectual atmopshere - but the kind of statements such as the ones made above - show a real lack of comprehension of the deeper messages in the show that really interest me - they reek of negativity and ignorance in fact and shouldn't really have a place on a balanced and intelligent board.
Of course everyone has a right to their feelings and opinions - but when they are so directly disrespectful of others - Moderation maybe needed.

Re: criminalist's post
I rest my case! Wow, you have a compelling interest to continue posting different views after such a warm and fuzzy post.
I love the sugarcoated intro, followed by the bashing of Noth's acting, completed with the holier than thou conclusion of the flawless Vincent.

Sometimes the truth hurts and if my opinion hurts so be it. Noth is leaving Goldblum is arriving and the show will go on. Like it or not Vincent is the star of the show and only his leaving will make any real difference.

AND criminallist - You - You - just one person - are the TRUTH /What about the other 2 billion or so of us on the planet - do we also have a right to an opinion No one is saying that you had to like the episode - but if others take something from it that must be respected as well. What people take away from each and every episode is very personal - I think all anyone is calling for here is some civility and discretion. Also I don't recall anyone saying that the show won't go on - nor did I hear anyone disrespecting Mr. Goldblum - I for one wish him very well in his new role. I think the point some are attempting to make is that there is no need to tear down the old to make way for the new.

As it has been stated NUMEROUS times, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. This, in turn, implies that you respect your fellow members and allow them their opinions, no matter how different those opinions may be.
ETA: This thread is for the discussion of the episode and I would suggest you all put it back on track.

Jethro, are you by chance a fellow NCIS fan? If so, nice to see. I've loved that show even longer than LOCI.
This one aired last night and I had one major complaint - DON'T AIR AN EP LIKE THIS WHEN YOU'RE PLANNING ON HAVING A MAIN CHARACTER LEAVE! AAUGH! Both times where we knew there was about to be a shooting I was just about going nuts, sure that Logan was going to get hit.
Aside from that I enjoyed it a lot. I realy like storylines surrounding protection details and dignitaries and assassins. I loved Logan's line about the FBI taking over the protection but the murder still being their case.
And I wondered if it wasn't the woman from the beginning for some reason. I kept hoping I was wrong, because I really wanted to like her, but I had a bad feeling.

I wish that they had shown more of Bela's mother.

LOL gorensgal. ;D The only saving grace here is that we have to assume NBC Universal will want to capitalize on Noth/Logan's exit, just like they did with Green/Jesse L Martin on the mothership. Something along the lines of .... "Chris Noth is leaving the Major Case Squad. Watch his last episode, when he is torn between the world of law enforcement and his heart." And in my opinion, Noth's performance in this episode was wonderful. Maybe the script had a few holes, just like many of the Goren scripts do, but I don't see it reflected one iota in his performance, or Julianne's for that matter. Their acting was beyond reproach.

The Goren/Eames fanbase seems so overwhelming at time that one can feel like David against Goliath when it comes to expressing his/her views and it's even worst when you don't particularly like Goren's character (speaking for myself of course). As a Chris Noth/Logan fan who has enjoyed his half of the CI episodes overall more than the G/E half for the better part of the last two seasons, I can relate.
Here's another example where I realized who the killer/conspirator was very early on. Despite this, I enjoyed this episode much more than the last L/W offering. I appreciated this episode for its newsworthiness as the story evoked the assassination of Pakistan's Benazir Bhuto and twisted it around with Bela Khan the intended "victim" as the protagonist murder conspirator.
However, I would have liked more time spent exploring the Khan family dynamics, especially the dying mother and more backstory on the older brother killed in the mysterious plane crash. But the great pleasure of this episode for me is the Logan/Wheeler team, their dynamic, how they work together and piece together the clues to arrive at a solution. It's bittersweet knowing my time together with Logan and Wheeler is drawing to a close. I'm hoping my remaining encounters with L/W are memorable and fulfilling, leading up to a graceful and upbeat Logan exit.

I wasn't sure whether I should or shouldn't comment on this ep. I decided to go ahead with it *obviously* ;D
I didn't like it that much, really. I didn't like it because I just felt that Logan solved the case without any hint on how he did it. There were just some "leaps of logic" in this one. The twist of the victim being the perp (so to speak) was just one twist too many for me, I could've done without that one. It was really the point where I went - ok, now I'm not buying it anymore. I also would've liked to see more backstory of the family to explain the dyamics a little bit more.
I also didn't like the kitchen-shooting or Logans refernce to RFK. I'm probably biased in that department, but I just felt it was a little out of line (to add to DR's list).
I really feel bad because I think that for some part, L/W have been put into the worse scripts. Not all of them, but some.

I think there was a real effort with the first Logan season--great scripts, great care put into them--yet to read the press nobody gaveadamn I'm glad someone else thought that this episode was out of line. I for one thought that it was in terrible taste.
