The most interesting thing to me about this new L/W episode is that the day after it aired on USA no member of this site has posted anything about it.
Did anyone watch it? Or -- since Noth is leaving -- is it that no one cares to keep up even a pretense of interest in the L/W shows?

It didn't help that "famous person stages their own kidnapping/assasination attempt to build sympathy" stories are so overdone, or that it didn't take long to figure out that the woman under house arrest (name escapes me, sorry) was behind it all (nevermind the fact that the previews all but stated it).
There was no interesting motive or great policework. Thes story just went along and then it ended.

I wondered the same thing when I was here earllier this morning.
But then again there wasn't anything to write about. There was one cute line when Wheeler said that she heard that Logan had become quite the diplomate when she was gone. That was the only thing that tickled me. Other than the preview of the next G/E episode.

Nosee, have you seen Warren Leight's attempt to explain the raison d'etre for "Assassins" in this week's episode commentary? www.usanetwork.com/series/criminalintent/video/commentary.htmlDoes he seemed at all focused to you? AL P.S. For what it's worth, here, too, is the link to the two-minute replay. www.usanetwork.com/series/criminalintent/video/2minreplay.html

AL Annabelle, I only saw the last 15 minutes, and wanted to wait until I had a chance to see the entire episode (I DVR'd it). I must say that I was underwhelmed with what I did see. And what is up with all of these female bad guys this half season? Last week with Miss Red Dress, this week Miss Activist, and next weeks promo looks like one of the Nursery school Mommies takes Goren hostage? Is this supposed to make some kind of sense, or is there some message I'm not getting?

Nosee, have you seen Warren Leight's attempt to explain the raison d'etre for "Assassins" in this week's episode commentary? Thank you for the link. I just watched it. It seemes to me that he was more concerned with being PC at least with the issue of political assassiasion than telling a compelling story. It was more of an apology for things that went on behind the scenes than for the poor story. As for the two minuite replay. That was all there was of substance anyway, they wasted the rest of the hour. nosee

Can I just say-- I was really offended by this episode The Tamils are a real ethnic group in Sri Lanka whose insurgency was in the news as late as three days ago (it is my understanding that it has died down of late, but that's another thing). I do not personally have Tamil acquaintance; however, there are many in North America (please note that I am not commenting on the validity or otherwise of their cause). Meanwhile, the villainess was an amalgam of the Pakistani politician Benazir Bhutto, who really was assassinated in recent memory (she was dressed to look like her) and possibly of Aun Sang Su Chi (house arrest). I was pretty amazed at the level of tastelessness, tbh :/ If they had to do this, why did they have to use a real ethnic group??? It's not quite the same thing as the Albanian gangsters or Middle Eastern Terrorists--it was very much specific groups and people that were being cartooned here. Nor do I understand Warren Leight's comments about making this palatable to Americans. There are plenty of South Asians all over North America (please note I am not remotely SOuth Asian ... just making a point or two). Very disappointing.

They use real ethnic groups all the time. That didn't bother me. What bothered me was how stupid the writers think we viewers are: As in, lets introduce multiple characters, circumstances and at the forty-five minute mark, Logan suddenly gets insight. Pullleeeze. All those red herrings really pissed me off too.
j2g said it, "There was no interesting motive or great policework. The story just went along and then it ended."
Thank you!

I am the holdout on this one. I really liked it.
I didn't think the killer was clear until the end though a little foreshadowing would have been nice. Was she involved in the death of her older brother, for one.
The writing was tight and it was good to see just a little of old Logan back. It was funny to hear him say "Well that would piss...upset me very much." !
Was he glistening after the second shooting? I love to see a hint of sensitivity in that tough guy. Along with "I believe you make your own destiny."

Ok--to be really clear here. It doesn't bother me that they were using characters' ethnicity as a plot point. They do do that a lot. HOwever, here they
(1) referred to a real country that has a situation similar to the one described, implying that specific details were true of this country. I.e. promoted misinformation.
(2) characterized the insurgency in that country in a rather negative way. The only similar episode to this that I can think of is "30," which was at the very least better done.
(3) (perhaps most of all) Made the murderess look like Benazir Bhutto, a real person from ANOTHER country (again, misinformation)--who WAS recently assassinated--which is at the very least in poor taste.
Please believe me when I say I have thought this one through. I have issues with the way they portray other groups on the L&O franchise to whom I either pertain or have had contact with (Italians, Russians, Southerners) ... but this was on some other scale.

I haven't had a chance to see the episode yet - and I no longer post at this site for reasons of my own
But as someone who has been a very loyal and staunch fan of Logan's I must say that Annabelleleight's comments are very offensive and out of place.
She and some others may not CARE for Logan one bit but there are those of us that do.

I did love all of the goings on at our dear Hudson University. ;D
It's been posted (tongue in cheek)that the fictitious Hudson University is the most dangerous college to attend in the country based on all the shootings, murders and what not that goes on there. Not just on LOCI, but on the mothership and SVU.
I did get a chance to see the entire episode. I thought it was pretty good. Chris Noth is looking wonderful lately. Very fit, rested, tan...just handsome. I think for him, dying his hair helps him look youthful. I know it helps me.
Shallow & OT Suggestion: VDO starts doing the same. Leaves some grey at the temples.

Haven't seen Assassin yet, so no comments there, but however the ep is received, it would be pretty tough to take out its (or any Logan eps) deficiiencies on Chris Noth. Pretty sure that Annabelle was commenting on her take of the ep - as we all do, all the time - and not denigrating CN, mikey. BTW Mikey - I may not havet seen the ep, but I have seen Chris Noth, who was down in Sydney last week to promote a new LG mobile phone (of all things). I can report at almost first hand that CN has never looked better - which is to say really divine. The eyebrows have been thinned back a trifle, too, so the "Victor Mature' overdyed look is gone. Your boy was tanned, relaxed, drop-dead handsome and very at ease. He seemed to be havinga great time. Wiish you were here:D . I'm with you on the OT and shallow thing, Donna. More than colouring, even, I would love to see VDO's hair stylist bring it back to that classical Roman-style helmet cut from the LOCI days of yore. Yeah, well... Hudson U. My kind of higher education ;D Man, it's a place almost tailormade for inclusion in Clue/Cluedo. Along with Colonel Mustard in the conservatory with a dagger, one could have the option of Elizabeth Hitchins in the library with nicotine gum.
