Did I miss something or was it because of the reshoot? I never did see anyone resembling Mr. Balcer in the final scene. Did anyone else? And why was his name not attached to the writing credits with his "full rewrite" ?

I received an email from Mr. Balcer--very kind of him to do that, and I suspect AL and some others may have gotten it--noting that he was travelling and unable to make the reshoot. So, his moment was lost.
What I noticed is that in the psychiatrist's office Bobby had on what looked like a dark blue shirt to me, and when he meets Alex outside he's wearing a brighter blue shirt. Just me or did anyone else notice this? And that exterior doesn't seem to match up with the interior of Gyson's office. Perhaps it's the outside of Bobby's house and Alex is picking him up there?

According to KE in the twitter chat, the final scene was reshot - Eames waiting for Goren outside of therapy - so that the scene would focus more on the characters and less on the city. So I suspect the change in the exterior was to accomplish that - the first exterior was 22nd and Broadway which is busy. The new exterior was a quiet residential street. And yes, I definitely noticed the different shirts, lol. I am sad that Rene's moment was lost. However, if you look at the promo for To the Boy, you'll see the beginning of the original last scene, with Goren walking out of a revolving door and Rene behind him. I'm sure that promo is up at youtube or The Reel.

I believe it was the lighting, determined by the time of day they re-shot that scene. That wasn't that big of a deal. I noticed Goren leaving the psych's office wearing the shirt, then appearing outside wearing a suit jacket. I guess he left the jacket on the waiting room chair. I'm willing to suspend belief. At the end of "Phantom," Goren leaves the motel room, leaving behind his suit jacket on the back of the chair. Never fails, I see that and I think, "hey, you forgot your jacket!"
