Techguy & Mrs. - Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery. You will both be in my thoughts.
Madger-Start the thread if you like, but beware. I'm hardcore when it comes to animal rights. Not sure anyone could handle it.
On a funny side, my cop friends are mad that I'm a "detective" and they are not, but I got a cute little plastic badge anyway.
Thanks to everyone for allowing me the pleasure to post here. I love it.

Hey Tech and Mrs, I hope the treatments go fast and side-effectless and for you to be healthy and happy, all the best. Madger-Start the thread if you like, but beware. I'm hardcore when it comes to animal rights. Not sure anyone could handle it. I think PETA too is mild. I think I mentioned before, I don't think much of humans as a species, I think we might have been an aberration of Nature maybe we need God to justify our existence.

Hiya to you too, Observer. I've seen your post. Not to worry. I wasn't feeling neglected. I hope you do get to access the link. That's one talented dog.

Hooray, got my car back! It had been in the shop for about a week and half--fix the bumper, repair some body damage, new locks, steam-cleaned, new pait, etc. So I took the train home Friday night, got the car to go see a friend yesterday, and I'm back on campus. Roper and I bonded over the highway driving in the past two days, so I'm quite giddy and happy now that my safe, reliable, steady car and I are back together.
Yes my car has a name now, I figured after all it had been through it deserved a moniker. My history class was reading the last letters of Thomas More the day the car was found; Thomas was very close to his daughter Margaret More Roper, who kept in touch while he was in the tower and really had a close bond, but was repsected for her own achievements as a translator/educated woman in the 1500s. (Her hubby, William Roper, wrote one of the first biographies of Thomas and it's still used today.) Since my car is also loyal and came back to me in the midst of difficulties, I thought "Roper", as a good, unisex name, quite appropriate. Oh shut up, I know I'm a history major geek.

I keep forgetting that "Ronni" is/was "Popularlibrarian"--or is my memory screwing up again? Good to see you again, Ronni!
And thanks for sharing the excitement about my car. (Sadly, we're through with Saint Tommy and are now on Columbus, blah. But the history class did get a kick out of the car name. And we commisserated about the godawful interstate confusion in the area, where I got lost yesterday.)

Ronni is our resident "Drive Through Demon" being the demon that haunts any illmannered drive throughers. Go Ronni.
Popularlibrary - is our old friend from NYC (unless I also am getting things mixed up) & I believe she told us she was not in the best of health and was going to visit less often. Hopefully she can drop in and talk to use a few times throughout this new season.

Catbird, I'm not popularlibrary. I'm Drive-thru-Devil pharmacy tech, AKA bammi. I got the drive-thru-devil moniker from another group before this group began. A lot of the originals here, Nikki, Metella, Observer, Trisha, and more were members of another CI group who broke off and came here. The d-t-devil came about because of all the unbelievable crap I put up with at the pharmacy where I work which also had a drive-thru. And one day I blew up (not literally, LOL) and the devil came about. I used to have devil next to my name, but I don't know how to get it back.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome back!

I used to have devil next to my name, but I don't know how to get it back... Go to your profile, hit "modify profile" and select whichever avatar you would like. Presently, you have chosen "none".

Thanks, Jethro! One more question-- at one time, somehow or another I re-registered as bammi. Is there any way to merge the two? Thanks again!

Sorry for my goof, I'm braindead. Eitherway, DTD or Ronni, it's good to see you! (Which one would you prefer, by the way?)
