I didn´t see any thread for this episode, correct me if I´m wrong, and I think it deserves one, it´s a great episode and one of my favorites. I love both interrogations, the wife's and the suspect's ('I wear a 13') and I love how Eames plays with the guy, very funny, especially his face when she leaves to wash off the slime. Brilliant. I was watching the dvd today and I found a goof, I´m excited about that because it is the first one I see, I always miss them all in every movie or show I watch. When they are talking to the bookie at his cafeteria, he is in front of a window and we see a white van outside, then the van is gone and there is a grey car instead (a Land Rover I think) and a second later the van is back. What´s funny is that the people inside the grey car see what´s going on inside the cafeteria, especially the woman in the back seat, and they are staring at the window. I would be staring too, I would even ignore the green light, the other drivers and would stop the car right there in the middle of the road.

I remember being really caught off guard by this one. First with that opening sex scene and later with the face off between Goren and Henry. I also loved the way Goren handled the wife; pointing out the spot on her "shiny kitchen floor" where she found the condom, and telling her, "the only medical condition you have is denial!" There were a lot of great little surprise moments.

I have to say that's one of my favorite episodes. The whole talk about shoe-size just drove me nuts. Size 13? Gotta be kidding me, I don't even want to imagine what that means. For almost a week after that, every time I saw VDO's pic I just blush and turn into the same color as a tomato. My friends still make fun out of me for that.

Well, I often joke with my friends that it's such a loss for all the girls that the fact VDO is divorced and single. (And if he's got a girlfriend, please do not tell me. I'm perfectly happy living in my own little fantasy)

I just feel the need to tell you something. I never would have thought that I'm superficial. It has never been that important to me if a guy is handsome or not. If I loved them, I wanted them, no matter that one guy had false teeth and the other one yellowish skin (being Caucasian!). But then I met a very interesting man. An artist, a good talker. But our first night together was a disaster. His…well, think woodpecker minus wood was shorter than a regular pencil…and quite slim, decrescendoing towards the end. It really turned me off. (That and that I found out the guy had no spine either.) And Goren must be wrong, somehow. I am a short girl. Short and plump, to be precise. But even we little women dont feel particularly attracted to an AA battery.

I don´t get it either. But I do get the '13' thing, naughty girls. Dirty jokes aside, I wear a 7 and 13 must be giant. About the episode, maybe small men want petite women but real love is blind and size doesn't matter (if you forget technique ).

Ok, you know what, I learned this in biology, the size of your feet is actually proportional to your height. VDO is like what? Six feet four, that's pretty tall, even for caucasians, so a size 13 would make sense considering his height. As for what Goren was saying. Well, they didn't teach me that in bio, and I have no idea or experiences to judge if it's true.

The only thing I now for sure is that the length of your shoe equals your underarm…wrist to elbow. I don't know if shoe size and penis size do have anything in common. Most people in Germany say you can tell the length of a man's best friend by his nose (poor VDO…he got such a small nose), in Poland most people say it's about from a man's middle finger to his wrist. If I remember correctly, Goren, in "Jones" said that small men (with small members) seek the company of little women because they do not have to feel ashamed with them. And I can only say…Goren apparently doesn't know much about little women…either this or I am the un-glorious exception.

I'm sure the writter put the part about shoe sizes in there just for fun. I really don't think any of the saying about *@#%^! sizes are biologically true. As for the whole small men and petite women, dunno, maybe it's just a coincidence. And there's nothing "un-glorious" about being an exception to the general stereotype. As for VDO, as curious as I am, considering his previous divorceS (plural), I really don't think I want to find out his size.

I don't want to discuss about VDO's private life or the life of his 'private'. He deserves respect. About men in general, there is no rule about nose, underarm, distance from wrist to fingertips (spanish system)....I've had surprises of all kind. And I repeat, it´s all about technique but not even men learn that.

Well, I don't want to chase the boys away with a "size matters" discussion, plus it seems a little crass (even if it is a tiny bit fun to poke fun at old boyfriends.) BUT, Goren was certainly making a point about Henry's ego and the fact that Henry was attracted to petite women because he had a small penis and he thought that they would be a better "fit" for him and vice versa. Whether or not Goren believes that size matters to women, he knew that it mattered to Henry and used it against him.
These are the kinds of mean little tricks and taunts that 1st and 2nd season Goren often used to play on the bad guys/gals. He seemed to enjoy doing it, too, and I know I loved watching him do it. Not that I don't enjoy his "righteous wrath," too, but that makes the ending stick a little too hard at times. Endings like the ones we got with Jones let you walk away with a smile.

I totally agree with Trisha. I like how in S1 and S2 Goren uses psychological manipulation to get the suspects to confess. In S3 and S4 he's backed down a bit, weakened his character. I really miss the old Goren. Nevertheless, Jones is a really good episode. It creeps me out thinking that there is such a pschopath, and it also makes me happy seeing that the bad guy gets put away.

I am not going to go anywhere near any nose/foot/hand size discussion (originally I typed that I wasn't going to "touch it with a ten foot pole" but that just seemed gratuitous ) But I will say Jones is one of my favorite episodes, probably in my top ten. For such an early episode it shows a lot of the little traits that make an episode great for me. I love the tag team interrogation at the end...the combination of Eames building up Henry's ego with her feminine wiles and then Goren breaking him back down is just perfect and a complete delight to watch every time. I just cringe thinking about how long Eames was trapped in interrogation with that guy, buttering him up and flattering him while Goren worked on the wife on the other side of the glass. Ugh! So so satisfying when she gets to let loose with the "slime" comment As was mentioned above, there's that playful spark of glee Goren has in messing with Henry and getting him that is a perfect example of what's been missing the past couple of seasons. Come on writers and VDO, let's get back to some good old fashioned toying with and mocking of perps next season, I miss it! It's also a good example of how Goren picks and chooses when to use his size to his advantage. His height comes in very handy to manipulate and enrage Henry, who clearly has quite the nasty Napoleon Complex. Also Eames- while personality-wise she is certainly not Henry's type, she uses her size to help portray what he finds attractive, which is small and dependent women who will let him control them. I think overall it's a great illustration of how both Goren and Eames understand and know how to use their physicality to their benefit on a case, without either of them showing any inclination to buy into stereotypes, since they both tend to buck stereotypes themselves. I love how they both have a keen interest in the case at the beginning, and give up the task force opportunity to stick with it. I think it's a great early indicator of how well they will grow to work together over the course of the season. Oh, and the dancing, of course. I'm a sucker for a slow dance
