How about his propensity for asking weird and/or socially inappropriate questions? ie, his question to the so-called little girl over the phone in Faith about her menstrual cycle? LOL Deakins' reaction to that was priceless. I thought that question, and the one about what side of her body was affected by her condition, was very carefully calculated and not a socially inappropriate faux pas. I think Det. Goren intended to trap the person on the phone because, by then, he had already scoped out she was not really a little girl but a fraud.

I agree with you, techguy. And I would not deem a question concerning the menstrual cycle socially inappropriate, cos menstruation is a normal, natural thing. I would answer such a question without feeling embarassed. However the moment i very GOREN. He somehow supercedes the average male (I do *not* intend to be offensive to any male on the board) who does not think about this stuff.

Yeah, it's funny how the man can have half a dozen mannerisms and still not become a Shatner.

It was a very calculated question on Goren's part. What I meant was, it was not a question that any other detective would have even considered asking. It's something that only Goren would have pulled out in that situation, and the reactions from both Eames and Deakins proved it, in my perspective.

@matherjunkie: When I read "Shatner" i LMAO. Could you imagine William Shatner playing Det. Bobby Goren? I think he would get weird moments, but only such which would include very unusual facial moments...and, of course, a toupee.

LOL, I have to say that I would be more then a little disconcerted if a strange man, police officer or not, asked me about the details of "that" over the phone. Something like that would almost definitely cause me to halt in mid conversation & search for an answer that didn't include revealing my most private 'time of the month' over speaker phone to who knows how many people. I also had a feeling that she was a fraud, but it wasn't her reaction to the question that tipped me off, I think my reaction would have been the similar, lol.

Thank you for enjoying my post. I'm with you too, Dragon-that would be an uncomfortable question, stranger or not.

I also liked the "school yard bully" performance in "Badge".

I like watching Goren's hand movements. If someone ever tied his hands down, I think he'd go mad.

I too believe that Goren's questions are pre-calculated and well thought out before hand. However, that does not stop them from being odd let alone bizzarre. I can not remember the episode name but it delt with tainted blood products. There is the one scene where Goren is questioning a married woman about her affair and she mentions to him that he asks the oddest questions. Eames made an off hand comment like...You have no idea. It got me laughing hard. If there was a quirk out there that these two exibit it would have to be the under the breath remarks that are of an inside joke variety.

Goren does nothing without thinking it through. Completely.
If nothing else, odd questions just serve to throw them off. Getting the information he really wants.
You know, I talk alot with my hands too. I don't know what I would do with myself if I couldn't use them. Man, that's like, some rare form of torture.

Goren stomping on the trash can in "Semi-Professional" was hilarious. And Goren aggravating the woman about the watch with his "weird questions" in "Mis-Labled" was priceless because it is classic Goren.

The moment when he climbed the church pew in "The Faithful" was very Goren-like, but to me it was quite normal. I used to climb church pews on a regular basis...for several years.

In "One" I think it was called, I liked it when Goren had his "Goren Show" type thing with the crazy guy. It was really really funny. I thought it was great because I have to do things like that all the time with my brothers. It was really really funny
