Another fav quirk of mine is when Goren attempts to enter a home or area and is thwarted by it's owner. The way his whole demeanor and body reflect his frustration, annoyance and surprised amusement at being denied access is amazing to watch. It leaves me wondering how much of that one would find in VDO.

In most cases he manages to get inside. I think the only person who really prevented him was this elderly woman in that ep with Bishop. I even used her reply to "Is that coffee I smell" to prevent somebody to urge me to become a member of some institution. "Maybe a wee cup of coffee first?" he asked when I showed signs of being tired. "Yes", I replied, "but I only have that one cup" and slammed the door.

He did it as well in Silver Lining, trying to get up the stair case to see the old man. I find Goren's reaction's priceless.

And he looks so...forgive me...cute when disappointed. Same in Cherry Red, when Eames told him to get out of the car. Or when she had her "We're on duty" line...

Rosemary, if I'm thinking of the right episode, I think it's a Eames ep. But I think it's only an ep or so after the Bishop run. Does the episode you're thinking of include Goren doing a little "dance" after the first woman they meet with/interrogate leaves to go dance at her charity event? Because that's the one I'm thinking of ("Unrequited"). But I definitely agree either way. It's fun to watch Goren's manipulations be thwarted every once in awhile.

Maybe... yes, "Unrequited" is the one with the happy "Eames is back" dance... I think I mistakenly placed the tough old lady into "Stray" which was a Bishop episode...

A litte unfair, but I couldn‘t resist. Goren speaking German in „Art“. More than a thick accent, kinda awkward pronuncation of fhis bony, but noble language. -- It‘s quite obvious that VDO does *not* speak German. When he said that his reading abilities are satisfactory it is still understandable, but the sentence captioned as „You have a last chance“ sounds like „Sie haben einen Seitenschwanz“ -- „You have a side-cock“ -- cock in the vulgar meaning of the word. I could not resist but ROTFLMAO. The German dubbing made this ep very weak, by the way. They changed the German dialog to French with Goren „being in France from time to time“. Christian Weygandt (D‘Onofrio‘s German voice actor) did his job well, as usual, but these changes about facts so essential to Goren‘s bio just disappointed me.

How about when Goren acted like an eager kindergartner raising his hand during the pub quiz in the "Beast".
Goren was charming when he half blushed at the husband who was looking at him like a trivia god. The husband was displaying big time hero worship and a hint of man love towards our savant detective.
Watching Goren display his almost supernatural powers of knowledge is a delight ;D

There was one episode i don't remember the name but it was when the actor and his girlfriend were shot... so Goren and Eames are standing at the bar and Eames is talking to the barmaid (?) and Goren is standing there eating the barmix nut things and the lady says "she had some sort of (lotiong/goup/burn stuff/whatever) i noticed right after she put her hand in the peanut bowl." Goren looks at her then drops all the stuff in his hand. his expression was priceless!
And i saw an episode last night (again i don't remember the name it started with an A) Goren and Eames are interviviewing this guy and all of a sudden Goren stand on the counter and pushes up one of the celing tiles and startes to inspect the sprinkeler system. the guy was like "What?!" and eames just says "Don't worry he does this all the time."
i though it was great! i didn't think it was wierd becuase under the circumstances i would have done the same thing, but most people wouldn't consider it 'normal' activities

It gives Goren's character a certain sense of boyish charm doesn't it? & yes it makes him adorable & even more lovable (of course... being handsome & gorgeous doesn't hurt either ).
Another example of this 'quirk' is in 'Undaunted Mettle', seeing Goren fidgeting around, anxious to get inside to see the house never fails to crack me up. Also in 'Art' He doesn't even wait for Silvia's ok for him to enter, he is to fixated on the art that he just lets himself right on in ;D. That one episode where he is denied is 'Unrequited' the first episode with Eames back, I' am chuckling now just thinking about him all fidgety & frustrated about not being able to get inside Harvey's mom's apartment.
It is also cute to see his frustration when he can't 'get through' to a suspect/victim in interrogation. Like the 'back pocket' wife in Jones, who refused to believe that her darling husband was a cheating, murdering *bleep*.
Urufu- That was the 'atheist' episode, where the girl fakes that she was kidnapped... wasn't it?

It was great! "Malignant". Now if I could just think of the first episode you mentioned, where the actor gets shot.

I want to say 'Malignant', I know its about the crooked pharmacist who was diluting his drugs so he could make a profit & pay off the pledge he made to his church.
