Good point tjara, She was in Vice before Major Case and Vice doesn't investigate homicides. So I think the Burman case was one of her first in Major Case. It also sounds like she worked the case quite solo and without a partner as there was never mention of one. Probably because of Joe's death. Major Case doesn't investigate homicides either. In L&O-world, all squads are really homicide squads.

I think her an Mulrooney worked together a lot. Carver never/rarely did, but on SVU Casey can be seen questioning people now and then. Carver sat in on a lot of interrogations though. And for the small appearances of Teresa Randle as ADA Kent, she did quite a bit of questioning in Tru Luv. That is actually one of my favourite scenes and I would have liked to see that character develop. She was so calm, collected, and reserved.

I didn't see the mannerisms given KE to play as Alex as being how I would think a grown up, professional, and cop to act. So? Who cares if you slept with or were even thinking of it - this guy? It was acted as such a freaking big deal ......
in real life, I would think with the years separating the events - it would have been easy and more "real" if it lead to an eye roll and a whisper - geez, I almost did an emotional affair with that nut-job - can't believe I was so out of it back then.
Anyway - that bugged me most about the episode - that I just watched for the first time off NBC.
Didn't love it. Didn't hate it. Didn't feel much at all - so I guess that puts it above some of the other G & E episodes this season. I'm glad they worked Alex heavy into the story line, just sorry they had to act like she was a sneaking teenager or some prude who was caught kissing a boyfriend.

LADY'S MAN will air tomorrow, September 12, at 8pm (EST) on NBC. So much for any pretense to the family hour.

Maybe not, because she still feels guilty about the case. And it's an awkward situation to be in.

For some reason I see Eames as being a bit of a prude when it comes to her own sexual proclivities. I bet you that she could count on one hand the number of sexual partners she's had. I think that for her, sex is something very important & not to be done lightly. That's why she is so embarrassed by the whole discussion of her having sex with Mulrooney.

You could have a point, DJ. I don't see Eames as a prude necessarily, but I see her as someone who isn't promiscuous and regards sex as something serious. But I think what really upsets her about Mulrooney is that she didn't pick up on his emotional imbalance and that he was using her. I think she's upset that she showed so much of herself to and nearly had sex with the creep.

I think you are right on Patcat. I think she sees herself as a cop first and a female second and even though she was coming off a horrendous experience of losing her husband she was still embarrassed that the cop in her didn't see what type of person he was.

I agree with all three of you ladies are correct. However, I don't really see Eames a "prude". Maybe just a little straightlaced. I think she feels embarrassed that she had feelings for this man and would have been willing to give herself to him. There is a possibilities she might have felt something close to love for him. It's only natural that she would, given the circumstances.

I agree. If being able to count sexual partners on one hand makes you a prude that would be a lot of us.

In cosmopolitan areas. especially in a place like New York City, casual sex is quite common. Not for everyone, mind you, but I worked with many women who would have sex with a man that they had just one date with.

I don't see her as prude, but very straight laced. Just a very "regular" girl, in a strictly positive sense.

Yes. It's common everywhere, I just don't see it as Eamesish.
