I don't see her as prude, but very straight laced. Just a very "regular" girl, in a strictly positive sense. I agree that she's not a prude! She worked in Vice so she must have seen it all! She does hate philandering men, and was very snarkish about the latex suits in Bedfellows. I'd say that's straight-laced. But do we ever really *know* about another person till we're .....? um, well. You know. She is probably horrified that she couldn't see through Mulrooney (for good reason, on the "rebound" from Joe). Poor Alex, 20/20 hindsight pointed out to her by Goren. Ouch. But true to character, she ultimately sees the big picture and is professional.

Look, I really liked it, and bravo to Nooch, but I can't help thinking that the sense of tragedy that bubbles up in eps like Cherry Red, See Me, Baggage, Smothered, Maledictus, etc, is MIA here. Kevin just comes across as a bore, and a born loser.
Plotline too swiss-cheesed or something. Ambiguity is one thing, incompleteness is another.
I think we have to travel with the perp on his descent, have some understanding of it, if the tragic nature of human frailty is to register as really good drama. We have to see the Fall.
See also the genius of Rene Balcer.

Succinctly & beautifully put, DB. As I've stated before, I'm a huge fan of Rene Balcer. Few can hold a candle to him in terms of show running a series and understanding what makes a series a success. Goren is his (and VDO's) creation. Without him the character, and the show, is incomplete.

Mr. Balcer is successful in giving a show and its characters intelligence, wit, logic, subtlety, and making them enjoyable for an audience. Unfortunately, such things do not always translate into big ratings (sigh).

Unless the "big announcement" is that Balcer is coming back, I think we've got to give the new guy a chance.

We might have to give him another one, unless Dick Wolf convinced him to jump from the mothership and come back to us.

^^I'd like to see him write out Goren and Eames more than anyone. He knows them best,

I love this show, but sometimes the episodes are too convoluted. This episode was nutty. I still can’t figure out all the questions. Disappointing
