While I enjoyed seeing Robert Goren's personal struggles, I was also a bit miffed that they (almost) completely dismissed Eames'! It's just rather frustrating to me to see Ms Erbe get the short end time and again. I like to see Eames' back story, and I like to see Goren's. I think there should be an equal balance, because she is just as much a part of the show as he is. I think that
I am glad they pulled the angst back this season, because frankly, Goren's trauma was making my head spin. It was too much at one time and a little unrealistic to me.

another poster here asked me what I thought of this episode & I just finally caught it on NBC last night >>>>>
LOVED IT !!!
Even back to season 1 I have always been atuned to the pace of a show & this one was excellent - ebs and flows and the kind of advancement I love.
I loved the outdoor scenes ! and especially when N was chasing the drug dealer & Eames cut him off just as he thought he was getting away - let's Eames get some physical time in and shows her in more than just a supporting role.
I really like the N & E partnership & the show won't loose me as a viewer if this becomes the primary.
Snark-a-tude was great.
The "Opps" line and the shooting at the end was a wonderfully realistic ending ... I think the call to shoot was technically correct; and both calls could have been called good.
Opps - as in, all the love still doesn't matter - when you don't let the kid become balanced - when YOU as a parent are too much involved or put too much of YOUR ego into the children - then it never turns out as good as it could have been.
Great visual at the ending with N holding the daughter up.
A + !!!

i really liked this episode a lot, i prefered it a little to last one which was also preatty good(nichols was a little to obessed in the previous episode and the subject was just very dark , good episode but very svu like). this one was intresting good story good partnership between eames and nichols( alougth i wish eames was given a bit more air time during the hostage situation). the end was grim but realistic. i thought the whole scene with car was intresting when nichols worked out it was bobby trapped and eames response was a good one.
I don't think eames looked good with the flower pot hat( i just dosent suit her).

But Eames did look good in those casual clothes, eh? I just love the casual - clothes, speech, outdoor scenes with wind & shadows .... can't get enough of that!

Hello everybody! Long time no read...
I just watched the ep yesterday on German TV and after having read through your posts I want to add a couple of things:
The use of a baby buggy to stop the car of the supposed kidnapping victim was actually used by the RAF in the (successful) Schleyer-kidnapping, probably the most infamous of their crimes. Funny though that wasn't mentioned. Maybe it was just a lucky coincidence by the writers?
There is actually a 'Simple past' and something like Past perfect in German language too. In everyday speech or writing mostly Simple past is applied. Since our baddy here was not one of the intellectual leaders of the gang, he didn't know or care about the different usage either.
The Baader-Meinhoff-Gang members were not hippies in the end. Rather the movement was a split-off of the 68 'student revolution' and hippie movement in Germany.
And they didn't kill deviationists. Ulrike Meinhoff found herself being regarded as one by the way at the end of her 'tenure' in the gang. Baader and Enslin found her lacking in radicalism.
Other than that I can hardly believe there will be only one more Ross-ep to come...
