Come to think of it, how fun would it be to watch Goren and Eames play the odd head game with Logan, especially when it comes to manipulating his ego! Now that would be worth watching CI again with Goren and Logan together!

Yes, I meant February 25. I'm absentminded, but I'm not quite so far out of it that I can't remember what day it is.

When the prison went in lockdown and the sirens went off, Gina said "Double dueces". What does that mean? I assume it must be a phrase for card players and I'm assuming it means "sh*t hit the fan". Am I right?

Actually, I believe she was naming the pattern of the alarm -- double-deuces meaning two sets of two. As I recall, the alarm was blaring in that pattern: a double tone, followed quickly by another double tone, a pause, then repeat.
I don’t know specifically about prisons, but in many settings where alarms/sirens are used, different patterns of sound are used to give immediate information about the situation that set off the alarm.

Thanks, Nikki! Now that the episodes are in repeats on OmniTV I can't keep any of them straight. I can narrow it down to seasons but the threads aren't organized like that and the episodes don't air with the titles in them. I'm the same way with punchlines and faces. My brain can't pick up on stray scenes or nuggest of dialogue. I need the full context to pin it down. Faces too, I've spoken to people at work and still not recognized them outside of work. Embarrassing.
Anyhoo, I watched this one again about two hours ago and I really liked it. Especially as previously mentioned, the final scene between Goren, Logan and the guards. I think Mikey was the bravest. He looked like he was ready for a fight, even if it was a fight they had no hope of winning. Goren, on the other hand, looked like he'd calculated the odds of them surviving and was not happy with the level of enthusiasm Logan showed for punching their lights out.
Goren however, when they were cornered committed the bravest act. When the guard told the doctor to be quiet, she almost was, yet again succumbing to the rule of a bully. That is until Goren prodded her to detail the degrees of torture. As soon as she began the litany, the power of control that the senior prison guard wielded was weakened. The more she talked, the more doubt crept into his band, successfully breaking them up. Not as much a take on "the truth shall set ye free" but broadcasting the truth shall free you.
As I watched the doctor, Logan and Goren; the gates were locked, the prison was in lock down, the guards were armed and ready to kill, I thought how brave all three were. They were cornered like baited cats with no where to run. The last option you'd think they should take, if they wanted to escape alive, would be to talk about what was really going on behind those locked doors. Yet the dialogue had that indefinable ring of truth that described their relationship as a group on the outside, and defined the confrontation between them and the guards as wholly believable.
Even if all three were to die for what they said, there was no better ending to the story for me than to see the characters admit the shamefulness of the situaion, to admit the personal part each of them played in sustaining such injustice and to hope, without surety, for forgiveness.
Unveiling truth behind the words and acts of the characters with the implication that they are better for having faced whatever consequences being truthful brings, is such a huge part of the Goren story for me. This episode was, well, comforting for me to watch, especially in the times will presently live.

Just tuned to this episode to catch "Chocolate Jimmy" utter the phrase, "I'm no Anna Nicole, I don't like to be made a spectacle of."
Weird coincidence they're playing this episode today.
