ROTFL! Oh geez! What a picture that makes, Maherjunkie. I just don't think Jo could have pulled off something like that. Clever she may have been, but not that clever.

When Bobby & Declan were reunited in the squadroom, Declan was gleeful, but Bobby seemed uncomfortable, a little embarrassed. Anyone else notice that?
At the time I thought it was because they were at his work, in front of Ross and his co-workers. Now I think it was more because Bobby & Declan parted ways badly, or at least not on the best of terms. Something that Declan may have forgotten (or was too out of it at the time to notice) but Bobby remembered and felt funny about.
I don't think that Bobby deserted Declan after he had his breakdown. If anything, he would want to help him. But with Declan mentally out of it and the Sebastian case in shambles, Bobby had to go off and attend to another assignment. Maybe Bobby was never able to properly say good-bye to Declan or Jo.

Good points, DonnaJo. I've also always thought that his discomfort was due in part to the fact that Declan didn't even bother to inquire about Jo, or even greet her. He went straight for Bobby. Dissed his daughter once again. Not nice.

Although he hadn't seen him in years, Goren still protected Declan when Ross started trashing him. Bobby hung his head in front of Ross and told him in a tense voice "He didn't botch it". (Talk about an awkward position {and beautifully acted by VDO} - Bobby is trying to give the new boss, who is being an assuming jerk, information that the new boss could care less about.... I get so mad at Ross - he walked in there with so many preconcieved ideas, it's a wonder his squad hasn't murdered him). Goren still has a huge respect for Declan, but he is careful. Little alarm bells may have gone off right away (just as Eames noticed - ya, even Ross) when he saw how poorly Declan treated Jo when they met in the interview room. . Ross' reaction to Declan made me think that the "buddy boys" were REALLY mad at him, and Ross was a part of that. I can see it as office gossip, you know, the guys at Ross' poker game ( Amends?) griping up a storm about how this "profiler" had botched the case. The Chief was at that game as well, which explains some of Ross' preconceived ideas about Bobby. Bobby was typical Bobby in this awkward situation. He walks a steady line, focused on truth, no matter the problems this path brings. I wonder just when Bobby started to realize how Declan really treated Jo. Was it at the moment of Declan's entrance to 1PP? Was that the cause of his reaction? Later, he tells Jo that in the past, he was so caught up in Declan's world that he never really paid attention to Jo's.

Well, now, OBC, coaxing semen out of a man isn't that much of a magic trick.

At the time I thought it was because they were at his work, in front of Ross and his co-workers. Well we do know Bobby isn't big on ODAs (Open Displays of Affection) since the last time we saw Lewis.... So I put the awkwardness down to that. Especially since he was in front of his new boss.... and such an easy-going new boss (her voice dripping with sarcasm).

I got the impression the Sebastien case occurred when Jo was a teenager, but my sense of time is fuzzy. I also think it's quite possible that a break occurred between Bobby and Gage before or after the Sebastien case, and that case might not have been the cause. Perhaps Bobby felt he needed to return to New York to care for his mother (was it Mr. Balcer or Ms. Sengtupta who said something about Bobby leaving the army because he needed to care for his mother and he didn't want to travel so much?) I could see Gage dismissing Bobby if the younger man told the older that he needed to pay attention to someone other than Gage.
Did Sebastien rape his victims? I was never sure of that.

Patcat Gage wasn't in the army, he was brought in as a consultant, correct? so who knows how much real contact there was between Goren and Gage anyway. It's hard to determine - we need more pieces of the puzzle!!! Anything coming between Declan and Bobby probably annoyed Declan. Maybe he was annoyed with Bobby leaving the army for a job he may have deemed unstimulating for someone of Bobby's intellect. Maybe he wanted Bobby to come work with him!!! EeEEEkkkk! and he chose being closer to his mother.... Poor Bobby, stuck between a rock and a hard place.... As for Sebastien, we do know there was semen, but not rape (I don't think) and that Sebastien took trophies. (remember the "Breasts intact" comment when Declan peeked at the file and Bobby got pissed at him?)

Actually, I think Sebastian did rape his victims. When Ross and Bobby are discussing the latest murders, Bobby says that no semen was found "in" either victim, which led me to believe that the others had been raped. If Sebastian had simply gratified himself on or near the bodies, I believe Bobby would have used the word "on" instead. My $.02 FWIW.
