Hey, I knew that Goren wondered what her life would have been like if things had played out differently for her. You saw that, when he was talking to Michael York's character in the intergogation room. At this point and time, whether we like it or not, there has to be some kind of closure for her character. and I do like it It was a great episode, from beginning to end. but now I need to go rewatch it Ohhh and did you see Goren wave at the one guy, after they were done questioning him. like" Tootles" he was cute there

Ohhh and did you see Goren wave at the one guy, after they were done questioning him. like" Tootles" he was cute there I think he still had the tack in his hand and just dropped it in the guy's face like, "serves you right." It was great! I kind of thought they would either toss the guy in jail or he would get killed by the officers and give Nicole something else to hold against Goren and Eames. But surprise, surprise, the ending they filmed was much better than what I imagined. ;D

Bernard proves Nicole is a natural born monster.
I'll wait for other posts before I comment more.

It was great! Funny, I interpreted that scene differently than both of you. I thought that there never was a tack and that Goren was showing him his empty hand. It certainly seemed like a Goren thing to do.

I liked this one. It didn't come off as a "Nicole" episode even though it certainly had a lot to do with her.
Before they realized that Bernard had something to do with Nicole, they dropped a hint by having Hillary say there wasn't "a pot to p*** in."

Two thumbs up -- waaay up!! Loved this episode. This is exactly the type of episode I tune in to see. Goren going up against a worthy adversary. The fact that there was an undercurrent of Nicole actually gave the episode depth without adding soap. Great job, and a great episode to be #100 in the series. Perfect, in fact, that Nicole was referenced but never seen (except in that one photo).
Terrific performances all around, too. Michael York was the very definition of slimy charisma. And who was the actress playing Hillary? She was very good too.

I know...I thought FOR SURE that Bobby would make the connection there.
And Michael York was awesome...Very. Creepy. Like in a weird uncle sort of way.
I also like the question about "what if Nicole had never met you." It was like Bobby was almost pissed off that the guy for bringing out all the darkness and evil that she now embodies.
Oh well, at least character wise, she got to pay him back for all those lessons learned.

When I posted earlier I hadn't finished watching my tape, but now that I have I'm afraid that I didn't really enjoy the episode as much as I had hoped to. Why? Partially my own fault. I knew all the twists. I knew from this board, sure, but the NBC site gave it away as well. There wasn't a mystery here for anyone who so much as even looked up its synopsis. And people who aren't such avid fans, but just like mysteries, they couldn't follow the story either because this episode was a rare-backstory-required one. I found you had to know who Nicole Wallace is to follow this story and anyone who did most likely would have known/understood what tonight's episode was about beforehand. At least, that's how I see it. The acting and dialogue was at its usual level of greatness (although poor Vincent D'Onofrio sounded rather hoarse throughout. A cold, perhaps?) . As a die-hard fan I certainly appreciate this episode. As I've said before, I tend to enjoy the Nicole storyline. But I guess I'm a little concerned that with CI having such a hard time with the ratings that TPTB would air a show that probably wouldn't attract new viewers and would be very difficult for the occasional viewer to follow. Maybe they thought the fans could use a treat for the 100th episode? But if that is the case, why didn't they do a better job of advertising the 100th episode, especially when they could have marketed the "fan" appeal of it. They certainly weren't too worried about ruining the "twist" or the identity of the murderer. It was in every article I read about the 100th episode, not that there were a lot. But, you know what? They have had 100 episodes after all, so clearly someone knows what they are doing. And I have been told that I sometimes read too much into things Two quick additional notes. One, this episode makes a very good case for the people who thought Nicole's boyfriend would be similar to the real-life killer Charles Sobhraj. Heck, the guy's nickname is even "Serpent". Kudos to the person who back in the day first made the connection. Second thing, is anyone else really curious as to what is to become of Hillary's sister? I won't go into any spoilers, but boy is she a murdering rampage ready to happen. And nobody is the wiser....

We got to see more evidence of Goren's knowledge of languages. We knew he spoke some chinese, but to be able to pick out the type of accent used, he must be pretty fluent.
I liked the scene where he kept smelling the hair stuff and then sniffing the girl's hair to see if she used it. She thought he was pretty weird.

This one didn't interest me very much. Also the "wild party" scenes in the begining didn't fit with the rest of how the characters were protrayed.
It wasn't bad.
I think also, that a new viewer just surfing over & staying, would be missing out on too much of the Nicole backstory & I think that is a bad thing for a CI episode.
Why no wild dash to see if they could catch the person who syringing the guy? It seemed also soo subdued at that ending death scene.

Agonies--I locked my keys in my car at a store some 15 minutes before the episode began. GIVL! Have to wait two weeks to see it on USA.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
