So, “Skater” is supposed to be an allusion to “Screech” from “Saved by the Bell”, right? Ooh...bad ass, hard boss Rodger. “You’re fired!” Not like the dummy didn’t deserve it or anything. “Oh no!” “You gonna be ok, Wheeler?” Hehehe! Did Logan ask Wheeler if she had her “gum shoes” when they went canvassing? I’m with Wheeler’s reaction: “huh?” Wheeler kinda sucks at CPR! But...she managed to “save his life.” not sure how! Uh-oh Mikey!!!

Yeah, back in the olden days PIs and cops were refererred to as "gum shoes", not sure why. "Goren woulda known".
But I totally dug this one, and ominous forshadowing with the last couple lines? Will post more, but I like SVU and enjoyed Tony Bennet right before. And tomorrow nights line-up: Well nothin says Happy Thanksgiving quite like Madonna!

I'm surprised the episode wasn't called "In Blood." So what's a blaster? Someone who just shoots a lot?
This was pretty good - I liked the Captain busting Ditmir at the shoeshine. Lots of funny bits in this one, too.
From Wikipedia:
"The original gumshoes of the late 1800's were shoes or boots that were made with gum rubber. These were the early versions of what we know today as "sneakers". The rubber soles of these shoes were much less noisy than the traditional leather soles, and the term "to gumshoe" was coined to mean "sneak around quietly", as if wearing such shoes on ones feet. The sneaking may have been in order to rob, or conversely, in order to catch such a robber. The term "Gumshoe Man" was originally a reference to a sneak thief, but somewhere around 1908 the term "gumshoe" came to be a reference to a police detective."

Sooooo Goood! Mickey is finally, really back! Noth was the old, new, improved Logan. Wheeler stood up for her man...we even returned to the aria, music and all. And was that a snark on Goren? Fie!

It's been very ironic the past couple of episodes. In Masquerade the writer did it. Now the actor did it. What next? The studio exec doing it?

Leave it to good old school Mike Logan to put the "Order" back in "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." And the Criminal Intent back in CI instead of the sturm und drang melodrama.
Questions: ---Did the actor Willie/Kirk do it, or was it Ditmir and his Albanian gang of blasters who strung up Skater? ---What was it about this case that justified the involvement of Major Case Squad? ---What tipped off the cops to dig up Skater's coffin from Potter's Field?

Joe --i guess i figured it was the Albanians...but that something Willie/Kirk did ended up getting Skater into trouble? and that's why it happened in the first place. hence the "it was you that did it" type of fingerpointing that i was interpreting first time around...kinda like "it was because of you...it might as well have been you that kicked the stool out from under him" --Major Case Squad deals with "high profile cases" right? murder of a star child actor (even though he wasn't anymore)...would be high profile right? --I agree..wasn't made clear...EXCEPT that the ME that did that one had a lot of ..what was it? WDL? "We didn't look"?...so maybe didn't pay enough attention to what would identify him at first. didn't someone...his mom..report him missing (or "not officially"?)..maybe that made someone take a closer look.

Are these writers stupid or what? The kid had a DVD copy of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince?" Not only do the Albanians bootleg pirate DVDs, they shoot pirate movies too. They haven't even started FILMING "Half-Blood Prince!" "The Order of the Phoenix" doesn't come out until July 13, 2007! (So I'm a dork -- sue me!)

In Masquerade the writer did it. Now the actor did it. What next? The studio exec doing it? Don't forget the country singer villain!!!! I truly enjoyed this episode and agree Logan was spot on! It was definitely NOT the emotional whirlwind roller-coaster we rode last week, but enough witty snarks and pleasant surprises to be very entertaining. "LOCI Light". I think "big brother Mike" enjoyed teasing "little sister Wheeler" in this one about her tv star crush. (yeah, yeah I got Goren wallpaper but have thusfar have refrained from bidding on the Goren switch-plate cover on e-bay). I liked the song/music they played during the "teaser"... does anyone know the song or artist? It was different from previous episodes (and way better than the video in the beginning of CC). I figure that the Albanians probably wouldn't have really bothered with Skater even though he was kinda crossing them if it hadn't gotten posted on the net. And Skater put em on the net AFTER Kirk/Willie stole his girl (again). But I'm still kind of fuzzy on why they ended up finding him since the first ME said he checked with missing persons. And I don't really understand why the bad guys went after the Nigerian guy; he seemed pretty small scale and I don't think he was much threat to them. Don't know that I can think of much to "discuss" with this one, but was my favorite Wheeler/Logan episode thus far, and next weeks episode looks fun too. Happy Thanksgiving all!

Not only do the Albanians bootleg pirate DVDs, they shoot pirate movies too. I just snarfed a raw oyster. Not a good look. Thank you, ebrown. Devilishly clever, those Albanians... Maybe they can shoot a pirated LOCI Season 7 while they're about it. Still, it sounds like a good fun ep, by all accounts of the posts so far. Perhaps the Potter allusion vaz beeeg choke? (Benefit of the doubt to writers.)

The Prisoner by Adam Crossley About Adam Crossley I have also posted "Prisoner" which can be heard on the 21st of Nov. on NBC's Law and Order Criminal Intent (9pm/8c). It will played during the opening scene.

"TECHGUY woulda known that". Never mind Goren--I should have made THAT one of my voting options! ;D
BTW, I don't know squat about Harry Potter so if the reference in the episode misfired I totally missed it. Not that it mattered much, I liked the episode anyway.
However, I do like the idea of the Albanians shooting a pirate CI Season 6 remake, and stringing up WL and the writers responsible for most of what's occurred so far.

I LOVED this episode - for me it had everything - fast moving action, biting humour and yet still a very poignant and moving current. Starting with the action - man did it move fast and hard - instantly in fact. The horrible scene of Skater's murder , to the shoot out, to the attack on Willy - Bang - one frame after another. Although it was extremely brutal and graphic - I found it riveting. I really think that Logan ( and Wheeler ) excel at these types of episodes - I'm seeing more and more what the writers mean when they say that they write very different for the two teams. Giving Goren and Eames the somewhat more thoughtful and cerebral episodes AND Logan and Wheeler the fast, more agressive action oriented stories . Letting them each do what they do best perhaps ;D. Now on to the humour - I just love Logan and Wheeler together. I find their interaction with one another both hilarious and endearing. Logan is the KING of one liners and Wheeler's reactions to him are priceless. Ross - as always - had some pretty good zingers in there as well. I'm liking Ross more and more with each episode. I especially like his interaction with this team - I wonder if that is because he feels closer to Wheeler - being her mentor and all? He also has a very good vibe with Logan. I'd hate to see him with Logan if anything ever happened to Wheeler though . Even with all the action and snarky humour I still found this episode heartbreaking. Right from the opening sequence - with Skater begging for his life, to the dumping of his body ( like it was trash ), to him almost being lost to Potter's field. It was all just so heart wrenching. Then the scene with his mother - he was nothing to her but a paycheck. The one person who really cared for him - Willy - in a way also hurt him the most - by perpetuating their endless tragic cycle. Willy's story wasn't much happier - he was almost as much of a victim of all the horrible down sides of fame as his friend Skater. The poor guy basically had no idea who he was, no real identity but that which had been fordged for him ( as a kid ) by the business - very very sad. It was great to see him do the right thing in the end and break free. What else can I really say about this episode right now - without a second viewing ( and its much to late for that lol : ) - it just blew me away - BLASTED me - so to speak. Sorry for the bad pun all - LOL - I must be tired. It was WONDERFUL to have a scene with Rodgers - I wish she was in every episode. She and Logan snark so well togther ;D. Those Albanian dudes were beyond nasty - I'm a little worried about that threat that Ditmir - sent Mike's way - quite scary. Finally - that song at the beginning was just Beautiful - and very fitting. Thanks so much for the info. on that Techguy - what would we do without you - You truly are the GRAND POOBAH .
